All I've heard about it is that it's smaller than a Merchantman and is more defensive than offensive, and then today that they're actually calling it "Defender" which I think sounds boooooring. Maybe it will be a kewl ship, but the name is sooooo boooooring.
If I had to theorycraft, I'd guess it will be a Banu fighter more like the Hornet or Warden. Tanky with okay but limited firepower, relative to it's size. I would very much doubt a scavenger or racer or even a cargo hauler. With a name like Defender, I guess it will be geared towards guarding and escorting Merchantmen. Probably multiple turrets and the size of a Freelancer, but with limited or no cargo of it's own.
Also, I'd guess it won't cost less than $250 and the Merchantman gets bumped up to $350.
Too pessimistic?
Sounds fairly realistic to me. Do we have any timelines on these ships yet?

It is perfectly legal in Canada to have another beer. In some cultures, they encourage it.
They really do encourage it here. It's nice not to be a pariah for having more than one beer. It's the one type of relationship that I feel comfortable locking lips with more than one. I love you Canada. Because beer.
