It's about 5-10% better performance accross the board, for ~15-20% power usage.
The price, is pretty much identical. $10 less officially, but the RX400s will drop I'm guessing.
I need an upgrade in GPU this year, currently running an HD7970. I've been looking at 8GB RX480s but didn't really want to pull the trigger for ~50% increase in performance. I most likely will skip over the RX580 as well, in this case, and still hope for a decently priced Vega *fingers crossed*
If that fails, well, I guess I'll go for a GTX1080 (not the Ti) because I keep seeing the prices drop, but I don't really like nVidia. Been with team Red since its ATI days... (had HD4850, HD5850, HD7970, and 2 more before that, that I don't remember what they were)
