That ship reminds me of the B-Wing from Star Wars. Actually also by looking at it, it seems as if its purpose would be for long range detection (recon).

^ This. Since it's likely the cheapest LTI ship we'll see for a very long time, it's a good cross-chassis upgrade candidate to get previously released ships with LTI.

For instance, I missed the original Retaliator LTI sale, so if I buy the Drake Herald LTI now, then wait until I can CCU the Drake into the Retaliator, the LTI status will be transferred to the new ship and thus I will have a Retaliator LTI with no extra premiums or grey market mark-up.

So yeah, if you missed out on a bunch of the previous LTI ship sales, this is how you do it. Drake Herald LTI FTW. :D

I like it. I really, really dig asymmetric designs, and it's got a solid, chunky feel to it. But I don't think I really need it, I'm not even sure how the whole info running bit will work, so I don't think I will... sorry, one moment. It seems as though I've just purchased it.

Lol, I didn't read any of the posts. If it comforts you at all I have had this book (http://www.amazon.com/Essential-Guide-Vehicles-Vessels-Star/dp/034539299X/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1414969540&sr=1-4&keywords=star+wars+vehicles) since it came out in 1996 :D

Got my LTI Herald to cross-chassis... or perhaps they will make a battle-hardened Herald more akin to the B-wing.
