I have never heard of being able to use a Hull series as a pocket carrier. I think there are a couple different dynamics to consider.

In aviation (which is our closest comparison) some craft need to be refueled on a carrier and some can be refueled in flight. In flight refueling requires a refueling probe and we have seen that on the Reliant series, but on nothing else. Doesn't mean they won't provide a retractable refueling probe for fighters, but you should not assume this. Right now, looks like you can fly escort groups of Reliants around a StarF or StarG, and the Stars can refuel themselves, so they will be popular for long trips. Not sure if you can refuel in flight with anything else.

Also, I have never seen anything that said a Hull series can be fit with a landing platform. I doubt that. The Endeavor can be fit with at least one such platform, and maybe more, which is a huge selling point for that ship. MAYBE the Reclaimer and Crucible can refuel fighters. The Polaris and Carrack can refuel anything small enough to fit, which does not include a lot of fighters. Of course the Idris can land and refuel fighters.

Long story short, range is a huge big deal and you can find yourself floating in space waiting to die if you are not careful. The range issue is one of the issues that gives the Vanguards a serious edge over smaller fighters and perhaps the Redeemer.

There should be good money to be made by any StarG crew who specializes in rescue ops for ships out of fuel.

I believe it was said that the Hull E, and maybe the D, could transport small craft. Not as a pocket carrier, but purely in a transport roll. You need to get your Hornet from A to B in the verse, but don't or can't fly it that distance. Higher a transport company and let them do it for you.
