I just know that in the end we have to blame everything on Russians. It's seams to be the theme of these days....
Haha, I see we'll be practicing keeping a low profile then: shields maxed, guns hot, running full afterburner with the stereo blasting. My first multiplayer experience in Splinter Cell was a fun but difficult one. My friend and I were trying to complete the first mission without being spotted. We failed the very easy first area over and over again, each time with the NPC director telling us to keep a low profile.
We tried being sneaky and spent 2 hours tring to avoid the guards and another hour trying to take them out. Each time a camera would spot us or a guard would randomly hear us and turn around.
"And keep a low profile" is the only advice that we had. After the 200th time, my friend snapped. "Low profile? Low profile! Looooooow prooooooooofile!" He screamed at the TV as he raced towards the nearest guard in full sprint. In a panic, I tried to help my friend by pulling out tlmy silenced pistol and shooting 2 of the guards that turned around from the sound of him stabbing that first guard to death.
Luck must have been with us that day because we weren't spotted. We then proceeded to complete the level as though it was Counter Strike. "Looooow prooooofile!" We'd shout while sprinting.
Surprisingly, we just shot everyone in the head and beat the level without being spotted. Those pistols only have 2 mags total and you can't get more ammo. Every guard died, no alarms activated, and 2 very happy Spec Ops people made it through a very easy first level for the first time.
So when people say Spec Ops, all I can think about is that I need to "keep a low profile" and I'll be fine.
My above comment, with ol' Cosmic's flying bar running hot beside us. For libations. And women. Keeping a low profile is thirsty work.Coverts Ops = Go Exploring, Trading, CityBoppin & BarHoppin and mind my own business.
See, Covert.......
Haha, spy vs spy. Loved those old Mad comics.
Or VirtualAss. He seems to be responsible for everything. Everything bad that is.I just know that in the end we have to blame everything on Russians. It's seams to be the theme of these days....
Can't wait till I can replace "Hoplite" with my Prowler......Love me some sneakin'Here's something to practice right now with in-game ships and FPS weps: 2 Hoplites jump into Koreah(or anything else you want to use as an objective, could be an offline comm array) a few thousand meters from the "objective", the Hoplites deploy their troops and jump out again. The troops EVA to the target and commence to wreaking havoc. At Koreah, first we kill everyone there and disable any ships(by climbing in and ejecting), because I don't think we can destroy them with FPS weps. At an offline comm array, the objective could be to keep it offline as long as possible. The Hoplites jump in, disgorge their troops, and jump out(when they jump out, the nine tails pirates will leave)leaving a dozen or so heavily armed Testies lurking about waiting for some poor schmuck to pop in, battle the pirates and move in to reset the array. When he does, we light him up and get rid of his ship. All comms on Discord, nothing on the in-game chat. These are the only scenarios I can think of where you wouldn't incur a crime stat. If you're not worried about that, then there is no limit to where you can raise hell, Covalex, Grim Hex, the ICC missions, wherever! I would suggest a time limit of 45 min-1 hour, Then bring in a heavily escorted something or other for exfil(NOT Hoplites!)If things start getting too hot, we silently fall back to a rendezvous point and call for evac. The only problem I have is our names floating over our heads, is there any way to turn that off?
I'm definitely more sneaky when i'm drunk!!So many great ideas don't know how to add more, I do like the idea of doing some covert-ops mission together with any of you at any time so I am all in for almost anything in the game
But then!
Isn't that what we do best in TEST, we don't try we just do it and if it work oORAH!
if it don't we laugh drink some or a lot of beer and laugh some more then do it all over again maybe that time we succeed..
Or we move on and do something else crazy...
:beers:
isn't covert ops a mission for us to sneak into other orgs and replace their beer with water?Lads and Lasses,
I've noticed that we now have a plethora of new groups to invest our Auroras into. This makes my pants tight. Among those is 'Covert Ops'. Don't mind if I do.
Now, everyone has different ideas of what covert ops is, so I'd like to get the juices flowing, and see what y'all think about different types of missions, as well as what ships you think you'd be using?
Ideally this thread would be in the group itself, but I see that we can't yet post threads to the forum.
Cheers TESTies,
Owl
Yes.isn't covert ops a mission for us to sneak into other orgs and replace their beer with water?
You need to join the privateering group of us. ;)I'd be more interested in Special Operations than Covert Operations.
While Convert Operations are a form of Special Operations, it is really only a very small part of it.
So I'm talking more of TAKING ships, bases, or Precious Cargo (PC) from enemies and pirates by hitting them in a way or location they do not expect.
Storyboard:
We find out someone has a unique distillery that makes an exceedingly rare and delicious ale, and they have it setup in a base on a remote moon.
Since they're clearly not sharing it with us the only acceptable course of action is to send in a 'small' multifaceted assault that accomplishes the following:
We'd then enjoy the distillery and even possibly consider returning it after it breaks down from excessive use (we can always take it again after they've repaired and upgraded it.)
- Neutralize their orbital defenses
- Neutralize their 'air' defenses
- Neutralize their ground defenses
- Provide Close Air Support (CAS)
- Provide Combat Search And Rescue (CSAR)
- Secure the PC (distillery)
- Extract the PC and all assets before reinforcements can arrive
Is that the group that'll be procuring capital and harvester ships in flight from the Vanduul for TEST and resale? You need to join the privateering group of us. ;)
That would be the one. =)Is that the group that'll be procuring capital and harvester ships in flight from the Vanduul for TEST and resale?
