Spawning a ship gives you permission to take off, to land, you:
1) Hold down F
2) Look for a screen that has a tab labeled SYSTEMS(upper left of screen), click on it.
3) I think there's 6 buttons there, look for the COMMS button and hit it
4) MAKE SURE YOUR LANDING GEAR IS DOWN, Look for the P.O. LANDING SERVICES entry, and click on the the "wireless" symbol. Watch the landing pads, yours will highlight with the familiar bright outline and vertical line. Get in position quick, or the P.O. ass hat will store your ship right out from under you. Once in position, you can hold down N to autoland.
Many thanks for this, when you put it like that it's totally logical.

also, in Levski, if you took too long to land, it might screw up when you try to take off. What it does, it'll rubber band you at some point back inside the hanger. You might be just lifting off, or exiting the landing bays when it happens, or you might even be well on your way, 100 Km away at full throttle. Just be prepared for it, or you might end up bouncing all around the hanger.

It's a known bug, and they're working on it. Survival tactic that sometimes works: The ship is bouncing because the physics model says it has momentum. In extreme cases, when this happens you can end up rather disoriented and cause more issues when you try to recover, so the best advice is, whatever you're doing, stop it.

There is advice from something that Air force pilots say about flying during emergency situations:
"It doesn't matter what just happened, you're the pilot, its your job to fly the damned plane, so fly the damned plane".

Edit: One other thing... sometimes there's a warning. It's a double beep sequence, like "BEEP beep, BEEP beep", or something like that. You'll know it the second time you get it. FYI too, the same thing can happen anywhere you need to request landing, it's just more common at Levski.

Give it time eventually the game will work remember this is alpha which is why im taking a break until i hear that its running smoothly enough to actually play. Also i want to upgrade to a computer that will run it better.(to bad you cant just upgrade a laptop's video card am i right?)
You can if you planned ahead enough when you bought it. Sager Laptops can usually upgrade the video cards. Both Alienware and Razer allow external video cards as well.

All the time. It is a bug that plagued the entire time this was in PTU. The worst offenses have been, pretty much cured, but be cautious using it while seated, unless you are the pilot.

Try this when you open the Mobiglas, close it with the X in the upper right of the Mobiglas display, instead of using the F1 key. It gets confused less often. It doesn't stop it totally, but it sure makes it happen less frequently. CIG has acknowledged it's a bug though, so maybe a fix is upcoming.

So far every time I try to do a mission, make a cargo run, or just cruise around, something fucks up. Game crashes, controls lock up, suddenly I am pogoing around in Levski when I try to take off.

I have had it. Think I might have to walk away for a few, getting too damn stressful.
remember, its all just alpha...

Yeah I tried both ways to exit, didn't make any difference I had to exit to menu to fix it.

Hmm thanks for pointing that out forgot that alienware had the external video card i might have to look into getting one. From first sight though i noticed that it was X4 PCIE which could cause some issues. I did look up the Razor core though which stated it was not propiretary so possibly could run that on my alienware.

Requires Thunderbolt 3 port. X4 PCIe is just fine, it even works with Iray rendering. In fact the Alienware Amplifier is more likely to work better with an Alienware laptop than one of the generics.

If i want to run a 1080 or 1080ti though i'll have to run on X16 as i'll be throttling the card at x4.

X4 is faster than games transfer data to video cards. Or, at least, I have yet to see a game that transfers data faster.

I used to run QA for a 3D software company. Hardware is well beyond software in terms of capabilities. Games are written to a lower common denominator than top of the line hardware or they would never sell.

You won't notice the difference because the game doesn't take advantage of the difference.

BTW 1080Ti is overkill for any game currently on the market.

Interesting. I am Enlightened. Epiphany, even.

SC has evolved beyond more than just a space game. It captures the struggle to succeed despite having little opportunity or tools to do so.
This Alpha process is a game harder than Dark Souls. More rigged than Stanley Parable.

I pledged less than a month ago. The depths of my experiences pale in comparison to you long-timers. I'm appreciative of this Org. It strikes a good balance for what the game currently is (on good and bad days) and what it strives to be.

I will now buy another ship to:
  • Commend SC on their ingenious "mini-game", called This Game Is In Alpha.
  • Fund this project, to escape this existentialist hell.
  • Increase frustration and hope in equal increments.
  • Crash new ship and repeat above steps.

If you have a 770 or more wait for the 11 series, this summer.
