This info is about setting your Page File for Windows 10.

This applies to both SSD & HDD.
It is recommended that SC run from a SSD if possible.

Note: If the Operating system (Windows 10) is on a different drive than SC,
the Page file on that drive should be set to 800 MB in order for the
system to collect Recovery data.

---------------------------------------------
Open Control Panel
Open System and Security
Open System
Click on Advanced system setting
Under Performance - Click Settings
Open the Advanced tab
Under Virtual memory - Click on Change
1. Select each drive and set ALL of them to No paging file
2. Select the drive with SC installed and set it to System managed
3. *** Refer to the Note above if the Operating system is installed on a different drive.

*** For those with more than 16 GB of memory, you will probably
not notice much difference in performance.
*** I have noticed a 20-25% increase in framerate in SC Crusader with this page filing.

Disclaimer: This works for me and many other backers.
If you are concerned at all, record your current settings
as you can always set them back.

I hope this info is of help to some you TESTies.

get 32 Gb of RAM, create a RAM disk, use as pagefile
Won't that make windows 10 highly volatile? RAM disks are not persistent as actual pagefile system data right? Novel idea but.. would need to know before trying that as I don't want corrupted data.

Okay, I was with you until:

1. Select each drive and set ALL of them to No paging file
2. Select the drive with SC installed and set it to System managed

They are on the same drive... So I "No Pagefiled'd" Drive C then set it to "System Managed" which is what it was in the first place...

Did I goof?

No.
If you only have 1 drive - set it to System managed.......
I should have mentioned that.
Many thanks, i tried to get onto a server but it was wobbly and I couldn't get out of bed. I'll try again later.

@CosmicTrader sorry, but for stability reasons - even for the people with 16 Gb I'd strongly recommend to keep page file of at least 4 Gb (and better 8). While you are right and "to a certain degree" absence of such file could improve fps .. w/o this file you'd experience "out of system memory" crash (and with only 8 gig of RAM it will be quite frequent )

My performance seems acceptable but if this helps I guess I could enable my page filing again(i disabled it ages ago).
I lied, it's already set on my C drive to 16GB system managed.

Oh well, guess that's why my performance was acceptable :)

Hmm, now this is a great tip. Many thanks, Cosmo.
Once again your encyclopedia of knowledge comes thru.
I have 32gb ram, but I'll let ya'll know what, if any, differences I get.
