Depends how many amps. If you have a 600W power supply and another couple hundred watts draw thrown in, and you get 10 mA per potato, with a 50% conversion efficiency you need about 320,000 potatoes.

Lol you beat me to it. 12 volts wasn't the issue it was the needed amps.
