It's not a cruise ship though, it's classed as a private superyacht. I think that it is relatively well planned out from that perspective as it gives a well placed workstation with a area to meet people in private, all in the same guest room.Wouldn't the suite provide the degree of privacy you wanted being if you invited an indivigual or more into your room or were there by yourself.
I guess I would have expected them to be inspired more from suites on cruise ships given the similar concepts.

I think the argument for Origin is that the extra space is justified by it being extra space. It's a selling point of the brand that when paying their prices you get a more open concept. That justification wont work for some, but its the main reason CIG gives.Beautiful, but I have an efficiency bug that wants all the space aboard ship to justify itself. I don't want a ship that makes itself a bigger target than it needs to be.
One of the reasons I'm not very fond of the Hammerhead is the twin halways. Using space like that makes the bird noticeably larger and easier to hit. I love the general intention of a gunship, but I'm just not thrilled with the implementation of the Hammerhead. If you're gonna build a bunch of empty space into a military ship, at least give it a hangar like the Polaris. What is with that big empty hole? and of course there are twice as many hallways as needed, and because of the hole, the ship's crew can't cross port to starboard in timely fashion. That's gonna be a nightmare when damage control comes in game. I'm betting people will find the Hammerhead will not afford the survivability you'd really like to see in a gunboat.
And of course one torp salvo from a Polaris and the Hammerhead is gonna blink out of existence.
Yeah I really enjoy the 600I and honestly the newest pic of the pheonix has made me start saving to get it from my buyback again. I am excited for the shielded cargo hold it is supposed to have and hope those can be retrofitted to the 890 Jump or something.Yeah, and I totally get that. I am still excited about the 600i, in as much as it has that modular space. If there are pipes enough for a full electronic warfare suite I could be game. Still, it will need to have huge advantages over the Polaris to win me over, like blazing fast speeds the Polaris cannot match. I am all up for swapping out the Polaris engines if that's what it takes to make her a hot rod. It all comes down to what CIG will allow with component customization--all the stuff we're still waiting on.
I would not be surprised if the Polaris costs $750 stock and then needs another $1,500 to get her the way you want her, especially when you consider the cost of a tender or three. OTOH, she should be able to go where nothing else can go. . .if she's fast, silent and deadly. My idea of a "cargo hauler".
Your right that its classed as a private super yacht (I'd more wager the 600i is the super yacht with the 890j a mega yacht) I was simply attempting to use cruise ship suites as they typically have far more room available where mega yacht state rooms don't typically have on suite rooms due to the narrow beam. It's not a cruise ship though, it's classed as a private superyacht. Considering this is likely a guest suite, due to the lack of windows, it still makes sense with it's currently layout, particularly as the wardrobe/hangars are set to the other side of the room and it makes no sense to divide them across the bed.Your right that its classed as a private super yacht (I'd more wager the 600i is the super yacht with the 890j a mega yacht) I was simply attempting to use cruise ship suites as they typically have far more room available where mega yacht state rooms don't typically have on suite rooms due to the narrow beam.
Yeah I definitively feel that the Origin style that CIG decided on is not for everyone. The only thing that would make me melt it as-is would be a new data running ship coming out and me lacking the credit or cash to buy it without melting.I hope those of you who have one like it. Sadly after the release of the 600i I melted my 600i.
Screw inefficiency, its a luxury yacht!I have the unpopular opinion of loving the 600I, even with it's inherent efficiency flaws.
Exactly! Poor people just don't get it!Screw inefficiency, its a luxury yacht!
I really like the look, but then.. I have the unpopular opinion of loving the 600I, even with it's inherent efficiency flaws.
I agree with you both @Wolfy & @SpudNyk . I love the 600i's looks & what I've seen of the 890J is even impressive compared to the 600i's.I'm with you on it - I like the nice clean look.
I like the aquarium / terrarium look. I would've preferred something more like the aquarium in the Million Mile High Club, but they probably held back on that to keep that as something special for those with access to that.I actually like the color scheme, a subdued background is nice with the touches of color in the fishtank and lighting. I think the textures and colors will likely be updated as this was apparently made to explore the style for the rest of the ship.
With all due respect brother @Blind Owl , I have to substitute the phrase "blaster holes" with "alcohol dispensers & beer holders."Not enough blaster holes.
I agree @SullyQuindarius , that would be sweet.I wanted a fish tank.
I'm fine with where the computer station is @Bambooza , but where is the alcohol dispenser in the private suite? For the most part I agree with you @Wolfy. My only issue is the computer station right next to the bed. It needs to be moved somewhere else and just make it a wardrobe or TV. The wall also needs to wrap around a little to give the bed a little more privacy from the sitting room.
I knew that I wasn't the only person with this thought in mind in regards to these images @Printimus . LoLbut what about all my beer? where am i to store it?
It has long been said that you never truly OWN alcohol, but rent it while it is in your body. @SpudNyk knows what I mean.Where we all store it eventually, the bathroom
Perhaps this can eventually become an "official" TEST Squadron "charity" that we can share with others around the Verse to share our vision of intergalactic unity? What do you think @Montoya & other wonderful TEST leaders?I find it’s the best place to transport beer, plus you’re giving it a home, so it’s practically charity.
I'm right there with you @Xist , this gem is going to be beyond priceless to those who own them with pride. Can't wait to see this puppy in the PU!
This is very true.I think the argument for Origin is that the extra space is justified by it being extra space. It's a selling point of the brand that when paying their prices you get a more open concept. That justification wont work for some, but its the main reason CIG gives.
@Isildor is another brilliant TEST member that realizes what @Printimus & I noticed about the latest images of the 890J so far.I really like the aquarium and do hope I get to cruise around in one some day!
The computer near the bed is fine. No need to walk that far, but where is the beer holder?!?
@Wolfy , in my opinion, poor people don't get it because either they have different sorts of taste in things or they are waiting for it to be more closely ready for the PU to get a better grasp of its grandeur.Exactly! Poor people just don't get it!
Well after I customize mine we'll see.Not enough blaster holes.
Same here. I'm just gonna stash mine out behind some asteroid and run naked through the halls with a pony keg strapped to my back. Can't wait to see this puppy in the PU!
Indeed. If we have cargo plates in the hangar, it'll haul some serious shit. A massive "cargo" hauler with a fuck you .attitudeedMy idea of a "cargo hauler".
Yes. My PlayPen must have huge rooms.Screw inefficiency, its a luxury yacht!
How would you watch porn otherwise? I see no tvFor the most part I agree with you @Wolfy. My only issue is the computer station right next to the bed. It needs to be moved somewhere else and just make it a wardrobe or TV. The wall also needs to wrap around a little to give the bed a little more privacy from the sitting room.

Where the computer station is. Priorities that's why it needs to be moved.I'm fine with where the computer station is @Bambooza , but where is the alcohol dispenser in the private suite?
