Looking a the roadmap it was an obvious decision.

Okay just yet another patch update a long way from release versus marriage! Congrats by the way hope it goes well.
I'm not sure if I like them pushing features to get an update out by a deadline. In this case it's a good call; hopefully, it won't turn into a detrimental strategy.
I have mixed feelings about the quarterly update. The intention is clear to have a set of deadlines to encourage the staff to work to. In reality every patch breaks new things, things are always behind and not everyone will accept the changing priorities of Chris Roberts. Would the game be further along without the PU yes but would they have as much cash? NO.
The PU allows criticism feedback etc which can be helpful as long as you accept even if its stupid (cargo on Valkyrie) its just your opinion they set the rules.
