New member here, been on SC for a few weeks now trying to figure things out. I'd like to start learning about bigger ships and how I can be helpful as a part of a larger team, and maybe stomp a griefer or two along the way. I gotta find a way around these bugs (getting killed by ladders is as frustrating as hell) and earn some scratch in the process! I'm on Discord now as Inferno, a leftover from my MWO days (I still poke around out there every now and then, but SC is where it's at for me now).

As a fellow Texan, I say "Welcome to the party pal."

I'm sure that there will be plenty of griefers to stomp & alcohol to consume during your time enjoying SC.

I agree, those damned ladders tend to enjoy slamming me through the surface of places & causing me to respawn needlessly. Hopefully that will be resolved soon.

Which ship(s) do you presently have & are there any that you've seen or heard about that you'd like to own as well?

I'm in the starter Aurora, getting a good handle on it, I think. My brother introduced me to SC, but he works all the time so we don't link up much. He just got a Cutlass of some kind I'm curious about, I can see I have lots to learn, lol!
I'm starting to read about capital ships and those large enough to need a crew, so naturally I'm wondering how to be useful in one of those roles eventually. I'm learning the grind doing deliveries, always in search of runs that pay better. Haven't tried JT yet, might be a bit much this early on. Sounds like something we might need a group for?

Best way of teaming up with TESTies is our Discord man, always people talking in the general chat. Also its the best place to ask advice from a very knowledgable group of miscreants who play too many games.
Admins update regularly with TEST events and in game meet ups, which are going to become a weekly thing as development gets farther along.

The Aurora is the best ship in the game!!

The new flight model will take advantage of its Aerodynamics......nothing will fall as fast in Atmosphere

The Aurora is a good ship indeed. Many move from that up to either a version of the Avenger, such as the Avenger Titan or go further up to either a Cutlass or Freelancer line of ships for early on game play. In a friendly Org like TEST, there's several that would be happy to let you take their various ships out for a TEST drive so that you can see what sorts of ships you like most. This being said, I wouldn't worry about that just yet because CIG is working on a new flight model which will shift a lot of things with the various ships in how they handle.

The large & Capital class ships will definitely be requiring a crew to operate. Many of those will have several different roles to be taken care of. They might not release any ships larger than sub-Capital class until after they release SQ42. If so, at least those looking to learn roles as they are made to be working in game will have chances to give them a try on the larger ships that will be in game, such as the Reclaimer, Hammerhead, Carrack, 890J & hopefully Banu Merchantman.

Exactly, and dont forget that TEST will have sub divisions so that you can join in groups that better suit your gameplay if you want to buy the ships that are designed for it EG. Mining, bounty hunting, assault teams
