Okay so, I was thinking again about the wee little Razor EX as a stealth recon spotter for the Polaris, especially nice it has such a tiny radar cross section, comes with stealth armor and ought to be near impossible to catch if it is sighted, and I was thinking about the pair of S2 scatterguns it carries. They do a ton of damage, but only at very close range. You don't want to fight with this ship, but if you're flying recon and a Vanduul escort spots you, it would be nice to think you could take him out. With about 2,000 DPS you might do that with the tiny Razor, but would you get your ass shot off trying?
So I'm thinking about this and it occurs to me, if you had Tevarin shields maybe you could have at. Remember the skinny is supposedly the Tevarin shields are highly directional, and though they only cover a small portion of the ship, they cover it really well. If you had a decent shield covering the nose of your Razor, you could straif an enemy pretty effectively at close range, given it has such powerful guns, super high lateral accelerations, and tiny target. You could joust with this. So what is the chance you can replace the Razor's two small shields with Tevarin shields?
So I looked and who'da thunk the Prowler comes with two, small shields? Special shields. They're "Shimmer" shields. Only they're not that special. They come stock in the Sabre (which gets 4 of them) and the Avenger, and so far as I'm aware, those are not directional. Is that right?
