The Division 2 - Another letdown like Anthem or promising? Any insights?

Good, I'm glad to hear it.

I really liked Division 1 when it first launched, right up until all the story stuff ended and the only thing to do was the DarkZone.

The idea of the DZ was great, but in reality it was full of aim bots, god mode invulnerable morons flying around the place and 1-shotting everyone who didn't have hacks installed and stealing all the gear we worked hard to get. So I uninstalled and that was the end of that.

If that is fixed, I'm definitely interested to check out Division 2.

From what I have seen of the network code it looks like its still all to easy to cheat with it as its still client side validation.

@DontTouchMyHoHos I thought they had fixed the going rogue vs manhunt for full map visibility... Might be wrong on that though.

@Bambooza Odds are we'll see a bit of cheats/hacks early in the DZ as people always have to try and break the systems easy or not. Hopefully, Massive and Ubi are a bit more ready for it this time around and they jump on the issue more quickly.

@sum1 Seriously! The amount of stuff they have planned for the End Game as actual content that varies is way even better than I was expecting. My hype levels went sky high after they announced what the End Game entails.

This game will launch in a far better position than some other games previously for obvious reasons like its a sequel and most of the bugs/complaints were worked out in the first game, I never really got into the pvp aspect as I didn't enjoy the darkzone at all, far to many bugs, hacks and just outrageous stuff made it to unpredictable for me but I really enjoyed the co-op even if it was bad in the beginning it did get better later on, my reviews on division 1 were very similar to other games, unfinished, unpolished and boring end game not to mention the fact they showed an E3 trailer that did not resemble the game, like another game recently I won't mention.... made it unplayable until later on when the DLC's and updates came around but they lost a lot of players who never came back.

So I think as far as the past few options these last few months Division 2 is a much more solid choice again because they had a lot of time to fix the complaints from the first one.

@Phil The DZ changes that they've made this time around by making 2 of 3 "balanced" versus only gear score will make the DZ something I actually play this time around. I didn't have thousands of hours in TD1. I played a lot but I never really had the time to sit down and really grind out full gear sets and god roll them for the perfect build like hardcore players could. That made the DZ fairly inaccessible for me. Now, those players will be off in the "uncontrolled" DZ where nothing is balanced out while those of us with imperfect builds or less time to grind out the perfect builds will be able to DZ if we want to.

I had about 160+ hrs in the game even without DZ I enjoyed the game even with all of its problems, D2 is shaping up to be a much better game overall can't wait!

I am in for it. I loved Division 1 at launch, but the end game sucked. Ubisoft stuck it out long term and made Division 1 worth going back to. Seriously, if they did what they have now at launch it would have been one of the best games of the last 10 years.

They seem to have learned some lessons. I am itching for a looter shooter, so their timing is good. I hope I don't regret it. I'd love to get some Testies together for those 8 man raids!

Anybody interested in playing Division 2, make sure you join the TEST Discord and enable Division 2 channels!

After you verify yourself, go to the #game-roles channel and click the Division 2 reaction. This will enable you to see the Division 2 stuff.

There is a channel there where you can post your Ubisoft ID so other TEST Division 2 players can add you as a friend, and you can add the other people there as friends. Never want for friends to play the game with!

Get on Discord.

@Phil I'm looking at you! 😋

Ive actually buckled with The Division 2, mainly because it was only £40 on GMG, plus it came with wildlands.

For £40 if i get a couple of weeks out it then thats cool.

There is not a game-roles channel anymore, just FYI. Not sure if temporary or permanent.

Yeah, it was decided to remove that stuff since it was complicated and most people didn't seem to use it, so it was effectively just hiding channels from everyone.

Is there a plan for an alternative discord or something like that? I imagine things will wither on the vine if we don't actively promote something. Should we start up a new discord for Division 2 Test? Be nice to have somewhere to chat and hang out with other Testies.

We have channels set up on our discord, maybe you should visit some time. ;)

Audio channels. I'm saying it would be nice to have somewhere to interact while I'm not somewhere I can do voice comms, like work.

Quick edit - I asked in discord yesterday, and was told that the channels not related to SC were removed, and no one seemed to know if that was temporary, or permanent, or whatever. Maybe they're coming back, maybe not. Would be nice to have a text chat option somewhere dedicated to talk about the game with people that are playing it together.

All episode content is gated by a yearly pass? Wtf? They are locking content behind a paywall to have access. So we have moved from early release, cool got it. Now to content being released is gated by a yearly pass. Is this because the dlc shit is free? Also it gives you exclusive content for additional activities so its kinda like dlc? That shit is confusing me.

The pass costs $40 USD and will grant players seven-day early access to all post-launch episodes during the game's first year, as well as instant access to any new specializations. Pass holders will also get eight Classified Assignments and a slew of exclusive cosmetics. You get all DLC free. All year one pass does is give you very minimal to almost nothing except headstarts on dlc and easier access to new specializations that anyone can unlock in game. The classified assignments offer nothing that can't be obtained in game. This was all stated by the devs on live streams and news feeds
