EA is to the video game industry what Disney is to the movie industry.
I completely disagree. Disney has kept sustainable growth over time while managing to keep products at a relatively affordable price in regards to their films and merchandising. EA has continued to grind out products that have little long term value but heavily contribute to short term profit growth and use predatory pricing measures.

I can easily see Bioware dying over the next few years, it's just not got the talent or experience anymore that the old Bioware had, with most of their senior level talent leaving over the past few years and EA putting a stranglehold on their ideas.
The one thing giving me hope for Bioware now, is that Casey Hudson is back and working furiously to fix all that was destroyed in his absence.

If you add up the stock awarded to the top 5 exec's at EA, you rapidly approach $100,000,000 (last time I looked, on 2016 or 2017). I should point out, this is on an annual basis.

BioWare had programmers with Fostbite experience, so EA send them to games like FIFA ( fucking priceless)

Wow....I finally watched the whole video. Just wow...I have to read the article by Jason Schrier now, but I have to say, this seems to confirm all our fears:
1. Bioware isn't really Bioware anymore;
2. Yeah, EA made some crap decisions, but Bioware also mis-managed decisions;
3. The 2017 E3 video was a fake in that, they really didn't know what the game was and just threw that together.

The fact that pre-production began on this in 2012, and lasted through 2017 is astounding...and not in a good way. I think EA was right to give them a deadline, although, it sucked that it was only 12-16 months.

I definitely appreciate better (again!) Star Citizen's transparancy and using our feedback, as well as having something for us to tool around in, so we know (sort of) what we are getting.

If you look, you will also see he has been selling tens of millions of dollars of those stock rewards almost immediately after receiving them. Nearly 50 million dollars worth.

Well, fuck yeah, if I got $32 million in stock this year, about $30 million last year, $30 million the year before that, and another $35 million or so coming in this year, yeah...I'd sell some shit, too!

See, it's really really odd to do that though. It drives down the share prices of the entire company and it means you get less money selling in large chunks than you do slowly. It's just not common.

So long as the stock price is good and their stock restrictions fulfilled until then its really just monopoly money.
