Is anybody else playing Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes? If you're scratching your head thinking SWG was shut down ages ago, I'm talking about the mobile game.

Anyway, I opened the thread because I was trying to figure out if we had an official TEST guild in that game. If we do cool, if not I can make one, they only allow up to 50 members per guild in that game.

If you haven't played it, it's a great way to pass the time in Quantum on SC, or just generally not get things done while you're at the office. Guilds help in a variety of ways such as resource sharing and raids, but the nice thing is there's no real coordination required or schedules to keep. You just want active people.

I used to play back when I had an apple phone, but no more.

maybe you need better friends for more informed suggestions
Wow.....I won't touch on how rude that came across

Anyhow Yes EA games have been known as huge money grabs and despite that I still purchased their games.

Last 3 games that turned me off from EA games were Mass Effect Andromeda, Star Wars Battlefront and now Anthem (still hoping they fix that one as it's gameplay was good)

And yes in my opinion while EA can make good games they usually either rush them or turn them into huge money sinks so I chose not to buy anymore.

My apologies, the comment was not intended as a jest or a poke at your friend base. It is sometimes difficult to get a tone or idea across the internet in the manner which it was intended sometimes. You are completely entitled to your view on a certain publisher and that's your right. I see your point on the 3 last EA games you mentioned, those were not as successful (or fun) as they could have been.

And don't mistake what I meant here either. Gameplay wise, EA usually has good games and most times look great. I'm for one hoping in the future they get away from cash grab methods or rushing games as I used to love EA games. It's similar to how I used to love Blizzard games, both companies made me so happy when they released games. Now I am always on the fence or just steer clear of them until we get some good feedback on them

Just for arguments sake. I will give the game a try. Will post results in a week

EA.......nope
EA makes some good games, dont dismiss them completely.
I'm of the same mind with EA. I have a limited amount of money to spend on games. If I spend my hard earned money, do I want to a) support the corporation that drives formerly great dev houses into the ground, or b) try to spot other dev's making great games that might fly under the radar because they don't have the marketing machine that EA does.

I'm 100% with choice b). When you look at all the great games out now, and all the great indie games...and compare them to the last couple years of EA releases, I don't think I'm missing much.

I play, around 3mil GP, but i've been at it for years, the test is to resist the urge to fall to the dark side and spend money. Trick is to just pick a goal and move to it, ignore the random extra events, schedule it for next time, trying to run everywhere is how you get nowhere in that game.

One of my all time favorite games was Battlefield with 1942 and Battlefield 2 being fantastic. They where starting to go in the right direction with Battlefield 4 and then lost it with Battlefield 1 and I have not been back to purchase a Dice game since.

So beyond funding SC with way to much money i find myself doing a lot of indy games.

Just back for a follow up on my trial of this game, yes I said a week but I got distracted lol. Firstly, I don't play mobile games often. This game however is actually really fun if you are going in expecting very little. Turns out there is more there than meets the eye.

The general consensus with the game is grind, so from that perspective the game has a lot of longevity. There are usually lots of events to do if you have the characters to do them and overall the game is fun.

Here is the kicker as with any EA game and most mobile games. Does it have a cash shop? Yes. Do you need to spend money to advance? No. You can just grind daily activities and farm things as you go. You can spend money to get various characters but you could grind and get them eventually anyhow. Overall it's a play as you want type game that has longevity. Overall I can say I was surprised and enjoy playing it
