I like the vid from an uber-nerd theory crafting and entertainment perspective, but that's pretty much all it is at this point -entertainment. I quite enjoy supporting SC content creators (especially those that include math-y Excel spreadsheets and diagrams), but releasing authoritative performance analysis at this stage in the dev process seems a bit premature, pointless, and potentially irresponsible.
Totally agree, one can only hope they spent same amount time reporting bugs and trying to find such but that's probably not the case.
Building up data for short term use in a patch could be useful maybe.., but still a bit wasted time if things change next patch then the info is useless.
And as in keep updating those chart as it develop even more so, admirable work for sure but a bit egocentric even shared to others it still is made to profit.
From highly unreliable data so in the end a wasted time that would been a lot more useful else where.
Like in testing what is asked to be tested through the patch notes, but for sure I hear ya all, any minute played collect data for the dev.
Sure it does but it don't point to one specific detail of a bug, that's what we can help with using Issue council bug reporting if not reporting try to recreate bugs others found.
The more recreated and found bugs the more likely it is to be a priority to fix asap and I know it's easy to forget cause game look very finished at first glance.
Some even when told don't get it, it is not a finished game yet, sure it's on a strong way to be one but there is still much to do before we can call it that.
So focus on having fun and be observant if you see some thing that don't add up check Issue Council if some one else have seen that to, then confirm it and move one.
Go back to having fun playing and don't take it to serious count on it to screw things up for you, like crashing when you just arrived to unload your biggest hull ever and all is lost.
Did you lose your cargo cause game sux or dev is not doing it right, no it happen cause you don't pay attention.
It's in alpha development it is suppose to crash that is what alpha game do best, If it didn't crash left and right it probably would be a beta development.
Or even a finished game and it is not either beta or finished so don't expect it to behave like it was or you only going to end up being frustrated and not having fun.
CHEERS!
