Just a dumb new player question after a few Vodkas!

First of all I must call my adoration for the all mighty and praised Aurora
Now with that pre requisite I have a less than tech able question to farm out to even perhaps more intoxicated members(God help me).
I have figured out almost all of the mechanics of the game when its not bugged out or the Vodka has the best of me. But one thing is on my to do list. Comms,...The last game I enjoy has voice coms enabled with a simple push to talk(within range) with the associated button assignment. And since I use a HMD its really a nightmare to use the key board for simple communications. Is there an easy help an old non tech savy guy out method to using comms that even I(already had two adult drinks,...go easy on me) can figure out

Proximity comms is the plus key on the numpad.

Team comms hit or miss, does not work last I checked.

Really?.....I imagine the hard core members would have thought"hold my drink"!.........But after all my chemo I had to keep a hand on it for fear it might fall or snap off. And with an adult(not so much on maturity)beverage in the other hand you can imagine my dilemma in playing SC. Had to learn to fly bare footed so I could operate my joystick(thats its nickname) and throttle with my toes. Im sorta like that three legged dog thats blind in one eye and deaf named "Lucky"

Suggestion: Drink more Vodka until you think all the NPCs are engaging in quality conversations with you.

I'm not big on voice comms, but when I have to use them I prefer external to the game voice comms, that way when you get kicked out of the game for various reasons you can tell the others what's going on.

I have for ages thought when I finally put together a pit, it would use a very large display but honestly, VR is cheaper, and if it isn't too cumbersome not being able to see the controls, it has a lot going for it. It seems to be a perfect match with voice control, but you then need to be able to quickly and easily toggle your comms?

How well does the rig track when you turn your head? Can you glance out the side of your cockpit sans lag, etc? I'd love to learn everything about your setup and how it's running. How many sticks, how did you decide to map controls, what can you not control, do you use peddles, etc?

I really am enjoying the experience so far. VorpX is required to use my Rift S. I can only state that mapping my Hotas and Throttles along with mouse and other keys and buttons has been a labor of love(learning and remembering) and yes I also use flight peddles. Head tracking is excellent in VR but I tend to use a screen called Immersion(cinematic also available. With the VR its full on look around but it seems faster in immersion which also tracks head motion and when zoomed in you really don't notice much boarders exposed. Wouldn't even recommend it unless you have some good equipment and SSD. But alas if I can do it then anyone could. I am really just a rider/driver. Just about cave man mentality even before my afternoon beverages. Not much to tell you but you can learn more looking up you tube videos of real tech minded folks using VorpX with star citizen.
In closing my ramble I have to say being inside the game is sooo much better than watching the game even though I sometimes use the 3rd person exterior view to admire my fine fleet of imaginary toys. And Bunker raids are a full tilt heart pounderLast of all "Hail to the Aurora"
