I agree..This review I liked a lot, fair assessment of usability and spot on point
LTI aint everything. The FOMO is real with this ship.
On one hand I have absolutely 0 use for it. On the other... I hate not having LTI ships and I probably will want this ship again at some point. I dont know, hopefully they'll bring another capital in game eventually, I'll be able to tell myself this ship is dumb for me, and melt it down for another idris buyback.
Im a sucker for white marble though.
Except when they need more cash and tie it to new cash only... also we have no idea what LTI is worth yetLTI aint everything.
sure we do, you just gotta watch the shows!Except when they need more cash and tie it to new cash only... also we have no idea what LTI is worth yet
There are multiple values involved here.sure we do, you just gotta watch the shows!
If CIG is playing down LTI like its not a big deal, then its not a big deal. The only difference it will have in the game is renewing for a small fee of UEC. And if the devs are telling us it is an insignificant fee to pay, it wont be impactful or prohibit people from playing the game. There are multiple values involved here.
1. The actual in game value of not having to pay insurance, for life.
2. The perceived value of LTI to players and the markup on the ship value when selling in game.
3. The perceived value of LTI to players and the markup on real world value of the ships.
We know from both the grey market and CIG sales that #3 atm tends to be a lot, like about 20% more. We don't know what #2 will be yet, and #1 is a constantly fluctuating value just like the rest of an alpha game. So at the moment we know jack about what the value is. I would caution advising people that LTI isn't everything, because new players may regret not taking the extra steps needed to make sure they get LTI on their ships while they can.
I mean, you could make that argument about the golden ticket a small portion of the community has in their hangar. Doesn't mean I don't kick myself every day for not backing a few months earlier. If CIG is playing down LTI like its not a big deal, then its not a big deal. I'm not sure I understand what you are referring to when you mention "golden ticket".I mean, you could make that argument about the golden ticket a small portion of the community has in their hangar. Doesn't mean I don't kick myself every day for not backing a few months earlier.
No impact on gameplay, better believe I would hang it on the wall of any ship I was using.
What is a Golden Ticket?
Users who registered for the site before the game was announced on October 10, 2012 have a Golden Ticket on their account which indicates they were the very earliest members of the community. The Golden Ticket was an invite to the launch event on October 10th. It also entitles the holder to a special decal on their ship if they subsequently backed Star Citizen by pledging for one of the spaceship tiers as well an un-announced small in-game item. A Golden Ticket holder has no additional privileges or game status outside of being able to say there were some of the earliest members of the community.
