Did have time to watch it before I left the sandbox. Will do on this first layover.
I'm wondering, for my purposes, which in would be the better ship. The Valkyrie seems like it'd have more utility, but is designed for ground assault, and the Prowler is made for it boarding action.
Ugh

Stealth only goes so far, after that you have to be able to hit. I thought "very, very stealthy" was the Eclipse. Note the Sentinel is also stealthy, and long ranged.
Hmmmm, I was thinking a scout ship, but I guess anything would fit the bill eh?
At the moment, two. Once we get AI Blades, up to all, but the door guns. (Yes, that would be 6 mantises and 2 Scorpions with auto gimbal. You could walk on the flying lead from your ship to theirs.)
That's a lot of hate to lay down. I like it.
The Sabre is supposed to be stealthier than the Ghost. It is also more agile. With 3 shields less fragile.
If the Ghost center mount place holder is required for stealth then the Sabre hits harder too.
Sexy is more attitude than looks. :) And when you strap 4 GT220 Mantis to a Saber that demonstrates serious attitude. :)

Now if I can lock bounties into troop seats, or mount some cells and still carry a vehicle, then the Valkyrie goes into my immediate buy list.
So Sabre over ghost all day then. What purpose does the ghost serve then? That kinda makes me sad.
Yeah, if you can toss bounty cells in, it'd be awesome. I'm hoping they make country cells just like cargo. They dimple attach to a couple blocks on your floor
An interesting choice. I wonder if it is keeping its three size 5 guns.
Yeah man, I hope so.

The Eclipse and Saber are both designed to have a low CS (Cross section) which along with EM (Electro Magnetic) and IR (Infra-Red) are ways to be picked up. The lower, the better.

The Ghost has Void Armour which is a modifier that makes it more stealthy but I have no idea how. I flew one in patch 2.5 and it was easy to break a missile lock in one, thats my only expiriance but it was good to have :)

The Sentinel has low-output components and @Richard Bong previously told me there was a faraday cage around the generator to lower the EM, but I don't believe it has any further modifications like the Ghost does.

Alpha blah nothing set in stone blah blah

Haha, yeah, nothing in stone. At all. I've got my 3 core ships. Everything else is just playing for now.

Thanks for the breakdown on the stealth. That's a huge help.

That work by reducing the EM and IR emission, it will became ad addition option ot mount into ships when the complet phisicalized objects system will be in game and we'll be able to change also the engine nozzles, the armour, the fuel tanks and so on.
The Ghost, just all the other sthealth componets, came standard with that, but do to the Hornets modularity, we should be able to mount it to any other Hornet variant (and I hope tthis vill be an option to other ships too).

That wasn't me with the faraday cage. That was me questuoning the utility of a stealth EWar bird. :)
The Sentinel is lighter and the hull is less durable, which implies something other than standard armor.
The stealth Ghost vs. Sabre is from the Sabre FAQ:

Compared to the Hornet Ghost the Sabre is built from the ground up to be a dedicated “stealth” ship whereas the Hornet Ghost is retrofitted to become stealthy, therefore whilst the Ghost is still very stealthy compared to other ships it wont be quite as impervious to radar as the Sabre. What little it lacks in stealth capabilities compared to the Sabre though is made up for in its additional armour and weaponry
The Hornet is ubiquitous. The Sabre is a prototype which has yet to be adopted by the UEE Navy, according to the ship page. That should make the Ghost easier to maintain and get parts for. The Ghost is also cheaper to start with.

And, of course the Ghost can mount a flashfire mount, giving it 3 size 3 and a size 4. (We just don't know how that impacts stealth.)

Boarding is a function of surviving to deliver troops to the target ship. The troops do the boarding, not the ship.

The Prowler survives by not being seen. The Valkyrie by shields and Anvil armor. They both excel at both ground delivery and boarding missions, and generally require help disabling the target for boarding.

The difference appears to be more playstyle than actual capability.

BTW, I wouldn't be surprised if the Prowler winds up being the stealthiest ship in the game.

Hmm for now only the S2 on the wings mounts, but it should be able to slave the turret to the pilot while the computer blade system came into game.
It is the nose guns which are size 2 but gimballed and pilot controlled. The wing mounts are size 3 remote turrets, controlled by the two seats between the cockpit and the living area.

But yes, currently, two size 2 Scorpions.

Good point. Shit. Dammit Richard. You're supposed to help me stop vacillating, haha. I'm thinking I'll upgrade to the Valk, and keep a Prowler CCU in buyback or my hanger, just in case. As much as I want to finalize my fleet, new ships will keep coming, and frankly it's silly to outfit a hanger with a bunch of ships that aren't flyable. Also will probably toss a Cutty in my hangar before tomorrow, because she'll be a great runabout for the time being, and I need to fall in love with her again. She was my fav for years, but lack of flying and play time lead to her loosing her shine.

I am just trying to provide you with information so you can stop vacillating and make a decision. LOL. I am not going to make a decision for you. LOL

Why not?? Haha, I'm finishing my third pint after 5 months of not drinking. I'm highly susceptible to suggestion!
Then you can simply gift me that Valk you just bought. LOL.

Looks like I am almost finished reorganizing after deciding I want armor not stealth on a Vanguard. :)
Vanguard Warden, Sabre, Retaliator, Avenger, just waiting for the 10 year insurance Mustang game package, and to see if the Yellow Jacket Dragonfly is for sale this year.

And because of you getting me thinking, I might have to expand to a fifth ship, but not for now. :)

If you need a Yellowjacket LTI, I have one in buyback at the original 35 USD.

Gift you the Valk? Hahaha, maybe. ;) Or you can just play with me . . .er, play with me on my ship. . .
Nope, still sound dirty, haha. We shall game together when I return from deployment and play with the Valk.

Thank you kindly but I have a slightly different plan. :)

I am moving my Avenger from the game package to the second half of a Nox 2 pack, so it has LTI. CCU a Mustang to a vehicle, (Yellow Jacket or Black Dragonfly) from the Mustang Game package. (I still have a Nox Kue, warbond, in my buyback for when ground vehicles actually become useful. ) I like the color of the Yellow Jacket, and I would rather have test colors :) but either works.

It should actually leave me with a $5 credit. :)

And Yes, I can get a Yellow Jacket! :) Now all I need is the Mustang Game package with 10 years insurance. :)

If you're flying the Carrack for cargo, I don't think you'll have much opportunity to fly an Avenger. If you want another small ship, I suggest consider a Sabre, just so oyu always have a good choice for a fight when it happens. even if you don't consider yourself competitive in dogfighting, popping ito a fray and launching missiles is pretty effective.

The other small ship I think goes overlooked is the Razor EX. I still think that bird has awesome possibilities people have not yet considered carefully. It is so manauverable it is extremely hard to hit. It is stealthy. It is able to outrun almost anything. It has guns enough that if you in-fight, you can win.

I don't know what future stealth recon game dynamics will look like, but I think its a better than fair bet the Razor EX will dominate them. Just the dash is too high to give the best view, so you need to adjust to that. The only way to find out if you can is to fly it.

The Avenger is the cheap to run, quick to recover starter ship, when taking out the Carrack doesn't make financial sense. The Avenger also makes sense for running courier missions when the game resets or kicks off. :)

Awesome. Glad you have a plan my friend!
I caved in and got the Nautilus, I love niche ships especially ones I don't think we will see a ton of in the game.
Yeah, she's a beauty eh? I quite like it. It'd be really cool if you could lay quantum minefields with it....perfect pirate ship.

Sabre is on my list. As is the EX. You got me thinking about it some time ago. Although if the Sabre has the same stealth, the EX may be redundant.
