I want to melt my OC Polaris and OC Glaive, pool the funds together with some left over store credits and buy an Escort pack.

I have a Hammerhead to Polaris CCU I can apply as soon as I have done it, so I will get the Polaris back straight away , as well as a load of fighters than actually work (the Glaive is never going to worth $350, I dont care what anyone says).

Only thing is my Polaris wont have a serial number like it does now and it appears to be the main thing preventing me from doing this incredibly straight forward and simple transaction.

So please fellow Testies, just put my mind to rest that I am being the most exceptional of individuals, and that I should just DO IT.

No clue how important or unique the serial number is nor does it look like the buyback of the Polaris retain the serial number. But its ok, as you can be like me and the next day after purchasing the Polaris realized that I'd rather have the Carrier Air Wing then the serialized Polaris.

The $625 pre sale Polaris had the serial number, Ive bought it back a couple of times and the number just keeps going up lol.

The Polaris the Glaive Together is $975 for me.

I‘ve gone ahead and done it and even though fighters are not up to much in the PU currently, at least the the ones I have work now.

I think I am still up of the deal with the value of the ships compared to what I paid for the pack, so thats all that matters.

Serial numbers and all that is bs (unless it isn't later) to make people feel good about their expensive jpg purchases.
If you want to cap your spending, which is healthy to do, melt your serialized Polaris get the pack and call it a night.
You can always buy it back for a 2nd Polaris later if you really feel like it.
Enjoy your spending, get what you want, but don't be suckered by things that give you no advantage.
At this point, serials give no advantage at all other than bragging.

doh! guess I should read the thread first, looks like you did it, congrats!

Is your serial number anywhere close to #1? If not, does it really matter?

And I doubt that ingame the serial number would be all that visible anyhow. Maybe it'd be on those little plaques inside the ship. So say you got #15, you'd have to invite random people into your ship, tell them to come see the plaque, and they'd be like "Okey, so there were 14 people before you. Cool." Even if it was painted on the side of your ship, you'd still need to tell people to come closer and take a look.

Might be a bit different if it's painted on your cockpit window. Then I'd want as few numbers as possible.

Reading the whole thread first?

That is not the TESTly way, remember: TEST squadron is made of win, where angels fear to tread - we dive right in!

If you see a TESTie reading the whole thread first it's either a very short thread or they are a Spai.

Or they are in desperate need of a beer and so you should push them towards the nearest watering hole.
