I just posted this vid i found in another thread, but i think we should test it. if it works then we amass our auroras and carracks to take over the verse
A duck!It's witchcraft
Totally, I know there is no "cloak" system per say but the idea of cloaking or changing your signal is what I am talking about, not just reducing your EM or IR signature but making it look like a different ship or being able to create a field or bubble that hides multiple ships etc...There's no "cloak" tech coming. Stealth works by reducing ElectroMagnetic (EM), InfraRed (IR) and Radar Cross Section (RCS) signatures, same as in real life.
There is already lots of sig reducing tech in game. In general, ships normally detect other ships primarily through EM sig. Hence why you can buy low EM sig "stealth" components. IR (heat) is reduced with coolers, but they have an EM sig. CRS is reduced by special stealth coatings that right now only come on stealthy ships, like the Ghost, Sabre, Eclipse, and Sentinel.
I don't know about physically hiding a ship but I don't see why something like changing your transponder or something couldn't be implemented so you look like a different type of ship on radar until the other guy actually gets up close and eyeballs you.Totally, I know there is no "cloak" system per say but the idea of cloaking or changing your signal is what I am talking about, not just reducing your EM or IR signature but making it look like a different ship or being able to create a field or bubble that hides multiple ships etc...
