Well, every ship configurator I've ssen so far is not very accurate and most of the time si based on the pure number, not the actual feature there are in game.
This has to be taken into account not only for particular ship weapon tailored ot the ship's hull itself but also for particular behevois of weapon itself, like particcula weapon became better while heated up that is not considered in the sheer number of the customizer.
True, well still the idea is to have a cheap swarm of snubs on board, so i guess the lack of quantum drive is balanced by the number you can carry, i guess :) I dont know it those ships have good survivability, but they are expandables.
I don't know how many can you carry, but keep in mind the S2 gun is a fixed weapon and actually they are compleatly overperformed by the gimbal assist one.
Also, back when I used the Merlin in Ac it hase sever problem to keep the power up for shields and laser weapon, so I'll suggest to consider at least a powerplant upgrade for each ship, better a shield on too to improve survaivability.
I havent thought of that. If i buy with ingame money the Krugers will it be saved for release, or there will be a reset before that?
There will be reset before the BETA for sure, after that before the game actually go full LIVE is not known. Also even now that Long Time Persistance is in game there could be account reset, total or partial (only aUAC or ships or a compleate wipe), that will depend on the game state and will be an option only in case of major economy broke.
Personally, considering the cost oof a single Merlin I won't consider it a problem, you can re-buy them with little affor one at a time.
This little ships have great potential i bet, of course swarms of auroras are super deadly, but swarms of krugers vomiting from the entrails of any capital ship, especially Idris or Kraken would be awsome :)
This is just on the paper, but i bet people will give them much love in the future. Cheap expandable fleet, if you put say 8 on the field its at least 8*3 or 4 guns probably around 6k dps if focused, and the ennemy would need the same amount of gun or missile mount to target each of them separatly. So a medium/large ship is probably dead in a few dozen seconds. Again, all of this are thoughts on the paper.
On this matter... wel actually yes but the actual helth system is just a place holder for the phisicalised component damage that will came in (soon I hope).
One the intendend damage mechanic will be in place the health value of the ship will be no more and damage will be eventually allocated to the single ship component, so we will be able to wreck a ship without have it to explode... this of course assuming that an hit (bullet or energy weapon) can penetrate a ship armor, so is not granted that a S2 weapon can pierce a, let say, Vanguard armor.
If you plan ttoo have a felle of smal ship this can be a factor to consider: smaller weapon mens less penetration of armor and also very light armor on themself so very easy to disable if hit
