Hey all, I just wanted to thank everyone for the great time tonight. For those that missed it, I joined a group in progress about 21:30 last night. I flew out to their carrack and did some escort duty, then joined the main crew after a bit. We did some claim jumper missions, then we starting doing some bounty missions.
towards the end of the night around midnight, we had a player bounty we were tracking...he was on Hurston in the middle of nowhere, so probably a drug run. We launched a Pisces to travel to him faster so that the main force could quantum to the Pisces. 5 minutes after the Pisces launched, he took off for ArcCorp. Rendezvous needed to happen, then head out, by now, it was about 6 or 8 of us in the Carrack.
Our mark then went from ArcCorp to Lyria. We initially thought he was headed for a security post to clear his crime stat, but it turns out, it was another drug lab. Unfortunately, he went inside, so while we had a marker on the F2 navigation screen, we had no pip for him...so by dead reckoning, we were able to direct DryKhan to the location in question where we found his freelancer sitting outside...now, everyone runs out and gets ready to assault the lab. So we are sitting there, guns drawn and I am down in the front left side of the door...on their go, i cycle the door and then all hell breaks out with lasers burning into the person they see standing there. The package he was carrying drops to the floor, followed by his corpse doing the same. Unfortunately, it was not our mark, it just another drug runner. We then all pile into the airlock,, and again, I cycle on their go... The group storms in and drops the mark in two seconds as he stands at the terminal. We then notify the appropriate agency, and the money appears in our accounts...job done.
The best part of this, was thinking of how this looked to the person walking out of the lab. Just another run, the doors cycle...and they see this wall of people in black and yellow armor with guns pointed their way...and then wake up back at their spawn point.
After that mission, we did an 890 rescue mission, this was a first for me, so I followed the others out of the port side airlock of the carrack. From the description someone else made, it looked like a swarm of yellow jackets coming out of a hive. We didn’t succeed in stopping the data, but we managed to eliminate the attackers.
for all that it’s nice to run a few trade routes, or do some solo missions, Star Citizen is at its best when you are with a group of great people...and Test has some of the best. Hopefully the people I was with will have some great screenshots for use in propaganda, but even if they don’t, it will remain etched in my mind as a great time. So for all those there...thanks, and I’ll see you in the verse.
