It's gonna be a 12 hour streaming Marathon to benefit UK Charities including the NHS. It'll be a nonstop reading session with Andy only taking breaks to do his business lol.

Might be fun if you have kids who like LOTR/Hobbit.

I didn't catch it at the time and can't find any recording, looks like I missed my chance.

Good on him, a wonderful thing to do as such a strange time.
Yeah sorry about that! I actually missed most of it since he started the reading at 2am my time. I started tuning in after Bilbo and the Dwarves have already confronted Smaug lol. Anyway he seemed to put in a lot of time and effort into the reading though and people do appreciate that! I sat through about 2 hours of the reading and felt that it was worth the £5 I donated. I'm hoping someone will put up the entirety of the reading eventually.

No need for an apology I just wasn't able to tune in due to home life 🙂 If Mrs and Baby 'BobFace don't want to hear my sounds they don't get played 😉

I was hoping for it to be on the 'Tube so I could consume it in chunks but alas no.

If they put it on sale for £12 I'd buy that if I'm not bankrupted by furlough. If Amazon could spend some of Jeff Bezos's billions and just buy it and then donate all the proceeds to the charity it was performed for, i'd genuinely get it from Audible and then they'd have me as an audible customer. I'd then likely buy Dune as I've always wanted to read the series but have never had the time to.

yep, same here, I only got to listen in for like 10-15 mins and then I had other duties... to clean up lol
Yeah, I would totally get it on audible, although at the part I listened to, where Bilbo has to disappear in front of the others by using the ring, he seemd to make a lot of mistakes and was re-reading a lot of lines because of it. I guess he really needed a break by then lol. I was hoping to listen to this later while working, but oh well, maybe later if it gets released.

edit: did some wind powered traversal of the elevated large body of water, and found nothing yet. I'm sure it will pop up later

Gaw, wish I'd caught a bit. It's such a mental drain to read aloud even for an hour but multiple hours? I'm not surprised he'd have had times like that, and we thought it was tiring doing a twenty minute presentation or reading a long story to our kid at bed time?

All respect to the champ 👍

He did really well with voicing Bilbo and tried to convey as much emotion as possible, the fast pace of action, Bilbos struggle with the decision while shit was hitting the fan hard and such were hard to do, especially many hours in. It wasn't a problem really, it was a much bigger issue for me as a non-native English speaker that I didn't have to get used to his voice lol

The Hobbit is pressshhhuuuussssss to me.

I would pay to have him read the entire thing IN the Gollum voice.

I've always wanted Gollum to read me bed time stories just behind my right shoulder.
