I have no words....
My wife's cousin is coming home from Wisconsin in 3 or 4 months, and says he's bringing me a couple pounds of white cheddar curd... but until then I will just suffer in silence, and stair at this pic... and be very hungry.
Well I spent most of my life being clueless to the wonders that it is until I went to Green Bay in jan for a project. Since being open to the wonderfulness it is any time I get the privilege of going to Wisconsin or Toronto I make sure to get a few meals of it. But here on the west coast while we do have wonderful foods like Tritip and Artichokes, cheese curds are unfortunately not a thing.

I will say this. The world is full of amazing cuisines.

I appear to have eaten it a couple of times without knowing that is what it was called, too!

My wife makes what she calls street taco's, they look almost identical to that .. but I make it a little more complicated for her. In Texas, cilantro is a big thing... but well I can technically eat it, but I'd rather eat soap. What's really weird is I can eat coriander and it's just the seed of the same plant.

but those look delicious!!!!

Nevada, California, Arizona ...

And yes it does suck that cilantro tastes like soap, cause I always get such strange looks as if I kicked their grandmother when I humbly request none.

As if I wasn't hungry before, @Grimbli. I'll take a couple of those and a cold beer please.

I believe there's a percentage of the population that tastes cilantro as soap. I think it's alright unless overdone, but I know people that can't eat it.

These are closer to burritos because I put refried beans in my meat and use big shells. Street tacos are super small, have usually two tiny soft shells, and they only have a few toppings. Cheese and lettuce not among them.

I believe there is a diet where you can eat all the meat and vegetables you want. Of course like all diets it has a downside and this one is no beer.
I lost about 80 pounds by eating a Paleo diet. You can drink beer. And eat bacon. Get this... at the beginning, I was for a while losing a pound a day. But if I ate bacon, I could lose 2 pounds that day. The weight loss can slow and even stop at times, but it'll start again as your body adjusts.

I bet you didn't just sit on your ass all day while eating bacon and chugging beers... That usually doesn't lead to weight loss lol

I went on keto and lost around 50lbs. That's without adding exercise. So it's doable. Diet is actually a lot of weight loss. Running a mile burns like 100 calories? You'd have to run 30-35 to lose 1 lbs.

Grats!
I have a friend who did keto and lost some real excess weight without changing anything else. He was doing some lifting and other "bro" type exercises already though.
Usually a combination of the two is needed to be effective. Dieting alone usually only gets you so far, and a lot of times the loss is temporary and the bounce back is worse. It can even end up getting you sick because lots of todays fancy diets are based on fully cutting out certain foods and nutrition types, which we are not built to tolerate for longer periods (talking 6+months - years).
I know some people who can eat 2 bars of chocolate, chug 6 beers, eat half a kilo of bacon with 2 bag of chips, every single day, and don't gain a pound while sitting on their asses all day. I also know a guy who can gain 6trillion pounds from drinking a single beer and having to spend 6 months dieting and exercise to lose the excess weight.
It's all genetics...
