Yeah, they're comparable in size. I can cut steel up to 4ft x 4ft and 1/2" thick. :)

3d printers are so intersting i just dont have space and time for one yet. maybe when i finish my house ill get one. are metal ones finally getting the love they need and how much do they cost

Metal 3d printers cost at least 10 times the price of an equivalent plastics printer. Like you can get a metal 3d printer for between 1000 up to hundreds of thousands. It's interesting though, so... just don't expect anything more than an interesting way to make a not so durable nick-nack at the low end.
I sometimes wonder if a 4 axis CNC router wouldn't be cheaper.

It sure as hell is! And a LOT cheaper, especially if you can build one yourself. Check out "DIY CNC Router" on your favorite search engine. I built one that I ended up giving to one of my son in law's for all the work he did around our house last winter. He's a mechanic so, handy with tools, and I can't use it anymore.
got ya i just remember you could build them yourself with the plastics id assume the same would be for metal ones. also what types of metal are we talking?
I only ever used stainless steel, and copper, both worked well. There is also the ones I know of: some aluminum alloys, cobalt chloride, titanium and a specific brand of nickel chromium called Inconel though others may also work.
Edit: Looks like copper might have been an alloy too. I think this is the vendor's website, I'm pretty sure saw the logo.
