Anyone heard of the rework on the 600i, that now includes a T2 med bed, and tighter use of the space inside?
I heard it was getting a hanger big enough to fit a Cutlass BlackFeel free to start a rumor! Like, it is gonna be the Odyssey Killer that killed the Carrack-Killer...Killer...
That is true, the large open space and plants and stuff should make it luxurious, but it feels like it's a generation behind now that the 400i is out. That being a smaller ship still somehow feels more high quality/luxury. Maybe it's the shaders, maybe the way things are arranged, the ratios of materials used, ceiling height, a mixture of everything probably.I know a lot of people complained about the 600i, and trust me, I understand why. I do see what CIG was going for initially though. Youre rich and you can afford to have a ship with plants and wide open spaces. It was more of a luxury condo in space.
Rumor is they extended the cargo area in the exploration version, as well as moved some stuff in the hangar so it accommodates larger craft. If the 600i gets a med bed AND retains the cargo area, I’d definitely pick one up.
Havent heard something called that in a while.hanger queen
It more struck me as a new designer's first attempt, especially when you step into the touring version. While a lot of the design elements are eloquent there is a lacking of floor layout planning flow and revival. Even such things as simply turning the bar 180 degrees so that the guest when sitting at it have the view instead of the bartender.I know a lot of people complained about the 600i, and trust me, I understand why. The 600i is a lot more manageable if you are flying solo from time to time, and it has pilot controlled weapons. Huuuuge plus for me at least. As a pilot I want to pewpew, not have to rely on other ppl or npcs to blow something up.Are there any reasons someone who already has a Carrack (and doesn't care too much about the luxury interior or looks, nice enough though they are and improved they may be soon), would want to fly a 600i? Asking because I currently have one, while I wait for a CCU to become available to complete a chain to get it up to an Odyssey. What can the 600i Explorer do better than a Carrack in the alpha 3.15-3.17 timeframe, that would be reason to retrieve it at a terminal in game? How about longer term, when both are able to do all their intended game loops?
Hopefully soonTM you will have the chance to ferry high class passengers in Luxury class ships. This could be as soon as 3.17-3.18 maybe?Sorry if this is off topic for the interior redesign, but I guess it may be relevant if the 600i is getting new features soon.
When it was last on sale I think the 600i Explorer MSRP was $475. And I think the Carrack MSRP was $600. So, deals on either ship aside, they are both pitched as explorers, and the 600i is ~$125 cheaper (before tax etc.) than the Carrack.

This is pretty much the answer to the original question, but the flipside of that is that there are also plenty of *other* solo-able ships that one might generally grab over the 600i, so that's then the secondary question you need to consider. The 600i is a lot more manageable if you are flying solo from time to time, and it has pilot controlled weapons. If CIG makes the cargo area larger & extends the lift as well, I'd like to see an extended length rover to go with it. Maybe something along the lines of a hybrid of the G12 & the Spartan that can hold the 5 person crew of the 600i Exploration, but have the seats in the back be fold-able jump seats so that wherever there isn't a character sitting, that zone can be used to transport cargo.Rumor is they extended the cargo area in the exploration version, as well as moved some stuff in the hangar so it accommodates larger craft.
i heard they are going to have a dinosaur cage in the cargo bay to help steer ship thiefs away from trying to steal the ship.nothing more than was on yesterday's Star Citizen Live, where it was first mentioned.
