Will there be AI in the game to man multi turret ships ? is there an actual date this will come into play if there is ? . I see there are a lot of ships that require more than one person to operate properly and some that the pilot has no turret control at all as all the turrets are manned by other ppl so with this type of ship design I would think that it would be needed eventually .

Update : So after some snooping around their website the roadmap is predicting q4 of this year for computer blades the needed component for the autonomous operation for turrets and other ship components so I quess we will haft to wait and see .

Well for some of the bigger backers that may have large ships that take many ppl to man the turrets that would suck to just have to sit and look at your ship without being able to even use it .

Well for some of the bigger backers that may have large ships that take many ppl to man the turrets that would suck to just have to sit and look at your ship without being able to even use it.

You should keep in mind that the AI is being designed such that there will be three different skill levels for NPC gunners, that the least of these should be more effective than AI blades, and the best NPC gunners should be less effective than PCs. So if the gun is consequential at all, you'll always be much better off with a player at the station. Additionally, NPCs will be somewhat expensive since they need to be paid monthly, and there will be several other roles than gunner they can play. It appears that many players will spend much more on NPCs than anything else, and what they'll get are ships crews far less effective than player crewed ships. It is intended that solo players who crew large ships with NPCs routinely get their asses kicked. You should expect this to cause much whining. Multi-crew ships are best used by multi-crews.

The biggest power-play in game is player cooperation, hence why you want to go hang in TEST Discord.
