I would like to see if there's any interest in a group I'd like to start up.
It is tentatively called the Infinity Fleet Group (IFG), formerly known as Infinity Squad. I am open to other suggestions for the name.
The slogan: "Pushing the limits to Infinity, and Beyond!"
Ostensibly, IFG will be classified as an R&D Logistics Group, with a primary focus on Exploration, Science, and General Logistics. In reality, it will be a multidisciplinary group with individual members encouraged to have strong specialties and supporting skills. A wide range of skills will be valuable in the IFG, and they are listed below, with primary identified disciplines in blue, secondary disciplines in purple, and tertiary disciplines in green:
SIGINT - Signals Intelligence
IMINT & CELINT - Imaging Intelligence & Celestial Intelligence
I can see the IFG being a group that handles high-order (read: sensitive) contracts, as well as high-risk jobs that most members would likely have difficulty with. Additionally, there is the possibility of having a strong focus on R&D with regards to Overclocking, Engineering, and the like.
Here is a list of possible starting branches within the IFG:
There are more details that I could share, but it's all internal, and I would like to wait until we have a proper internal, secured forum to make use of before I share those details. :)
Ultimately, my goal is to build Infinity up as a group with an ironclad reputation for delivering on its missions. Someone asks us to overclock an engine to the point where it could explode, but delivers the desired performance? We'll do it. Someone asks us to fly through Vanduul space to get as much information as we can on the system? We'll do it. Someone asks us to discreetly move cargo for them? We'll do it. Someone asks us to assign someone to their persistent warship? We'll do it.
The goal is to push the limits of what is possible, for the betterment of the organization as a whole. Any results we produce, provided that it is safe to do so, will be shared with the entirety of the organization.
This post will be updated as more information becomes available as I develop the concept further, and produce the appropriate stationery (read: logos).
If anyone has questions about IFG, please do not hesitate to ask! I love questions. I have linked the application form below, for I am now actually building a roster of prospective recruits.
