That is the hangar bay not the ramp.

You lose both hangars. That means you have no rearm, refuel or repair facilities. It also cuts your carrier flight group by two. The latter doesn't mean it isn't an attack Carrier, but the former does. I might be wrong, it looks like it might keep one of the hangars.

The Avenger is the cheap to run, quick to recover starter ship, when taking out the Carrack doesn't make financial sense. The Avenger also makes sense for running courier missions when the game resets or kicks off. :)

It is the nose guns which are size 2 but gimballed and pilot controlled. The wing mounts are size 3 remote turrets, controlled by the two seats between the cockpit and the living area. But yes, currently, two size 2 Scorpions.
