That's exactly what would happen. The A10 produces about 50% rearward thrust when it fires its gun. If it were offset it would knock the plane out of the sky.

The M7A is a good match on the front of the Vanguard with the BVRS, since they have the same aim pip, and it ranges out to 6km. You should be able to kill bunkers with it without going inside their range.

I don't really like small guns, even when there are lots of them. I was looking at the entire S1 collection for something useful on the Razor, and indeed if the Singe-1 had the speed and range listed, it would be a fascinating choice.

You didn't say what you intend to do, but from what you did say it sounds like you can keep the Carrack and Vanguard and be happy with just those two ships. I would recommend you pick up a Razor EX. Put it in the Carrack bay and go to space. Cut the wings off and see how well it flies in space...

Bring a Vanguard and shoot the turrets. Anything with 2 medium shields should be able to kill them.
