That actually works for me. Sometimes the game doesn't know who the hell you are after (even when it's showing your friends list and events from your last session) that, but just restart it to fix that.

I'm not a fan of a racer who accepts money from Saudi Aramco, and then criticizes any other oil and gas operation anywhere in the world. Seriously, that's bad form there.
Keep it or melt it, your choice. You can always change your mind later. They aren't going to cancel it, in a large portion of their market, bate and switch is illegal so in those markets, they need to deliver what they have promised. Eventually.
I would say, if the dream has altered, go ahead and alter it. You will have opportunities to reversse the decision if it doesn't work out.
