TLDR; Mining is a hell of a lot of fun once you figure it out. 3.2 sure seems fun, even though it does have a lot of bugs at the moment. There seem to be several things turned off too. Landing systems are relatively disabled, and trade kiosks for commodities don't seem to realize your ship...

Yeah you def. want to be in the Connie. The 600i is a luxury yacht, and it may be fastest in it's class - if the class is full displacement hull's.

This kind of thing is what the side doors are for on the Cutlass. It's also handy to manage other pilots following too close, or for untoward reasons. Now, it is unclear exactly how cold one's buns would get, exposed to the raw vacuum of space, but it is clearly a better use for the side doors...
