Yep. That pretty much captures it. Then in 2 or 2 1/2 months or so you need a sequel, "Waiting for 3.2" ...

    Gaming Ears

Me too, I switched back to wired USB. Wireless bluetooth works, but it's low power leaves it susceptible interference, and some software (Discord for example) doesn't always play nice with it.

Yeah, a star, black hole, or a galaxy. Or in the future, a starship.

    RIP Dr. Hawking

He overcame great adversity to follow his passion. In the NY Times, the headline announcing his passing has a subtitle that reads : "His mind roamed the cosmos". Indeed, it did. His thoughts will forever be a part of the way we see and understand our universe. Pi day will never be the same...

My mind is blown, someone please explain this!

lol. they weren't. If it took us until around 3500 BC to figure out how to make things go around and around (first known wheels were for pottery), and another about 300 years to figure out how things going around could make things go in a straight line (chariots) without rattling itself apart...

Good questions. I did it again by the way, it's reuleaux polygon. The distance to the glass table does not change. You could describe a perfect sphere as a 3d reuleaux polygon with an infinite number of sides. There's another property though that makes the 2d kind especially useful (and...

The trick to the gomboc is, any rotation from the point of stability causes the center of mass to become offset from the center of rotation. there are tons of shapes indeed, but at least there is a commercial application. They're not just curiosities. The hull of a self-righting displacement...

My mind is blown, someone please explain this!

The trick is, all of the points on the radius are equidistant their opposite side, just like a sphere - so, it can roll like a ball. Yes there are rotary engine designs built on this principle (the Wankel engine), but not all rotary engines do.

The song "I don't like Mondays", by Bob Geldof of the Boomtown Rats was written about this event. The silicon chip inside her head Gets switched to overload And nobody's gonna go to school today She's going to make them stay at home And daddy doesn't understand it He always said she was as good...

I don't think anyone misses that this meeting appears to have been politically motivated, to give the appearance of doing something. Nothing to do with science or statistical evidence. Those kind of things, facts, experts, and such just get in the way of politics anyway.

There is something else though, that we often discount but the evidence is mounting that it's a real factor here. I haven't been able to find a really interesting chart i saw back in 2011 (at the CDC... I was doing some work there), but I did find these...

yep, and sometimes it's not even kids. But does this translate to desensitization and violent crime? In some cases maybe, but I don't think it's statistically significant. The fact is violent crime peaked during a time before video games were popular, and the bulk of the evidence seems to...

lol. Yeah well. That's probably not the worst of it. But the two boys didn't look like they had a particularly good time on that trip. Check out Xavier's expression. There was also Hadrian's face plant thing at that memorial ceremony. So maybe there's hope for the whole Waterhole family...

Oh I dunno. He's not the best, certainly not his father, that's for sure. But tell ya what. Science isn't done, or even understood by Justin Trudeau any more than it is by Donald Trump. But one at least tries to listen to scientists, and tries to learn learn what they mean, and the other one...

I'm not sure what you're getting at here, since you didn't say what science "proved". There is a popular misconception that science proves things. It does not, and there is not actually a concept such as "conclusive proof" in the scientific method. Second thing you said I agree with, but...

Petrolheads, SUV owners, I need your advice (car buying)

Gotcha. I agree. Actually I think a 2 liter diesel needs to be naturally aspirated and mounted in a boat. But Dieselgate was a issue of ethics, not of diesel engines themselves. Generally the ethics of Volkswagon executives, but specifically for me it's what that incident says about the...
