Don't. I completely understand the initial scepticism as there are many people that just express their opinion as a fact. And stating my experience on the matter was not an attempt to show off, just telling you that I might know what I'm talking about.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that they didn't have to backtrack, adapt and port anything. Lumberyard is the exact same thing as CryEngine in every aspect except netcode. What Lumberyard did provide CIG was a CryEngine with cloud deployment tools.

The switch to Lumberyard has been done for months now. I was already having talks about this with the devs during CitizenCon. Lumberyard is essentially CryEngine with better networking facilities. No major rewrites required, nothing of the sort.
