Typically a full game dev cycle is 5 years. 8 years is a little long. Star Citizen/Squadron 42 is over 12 now with no release date in sight. Cryengine is a game engine, so not from scratch. Note that Lumberyard and the following O3DE is still Cryengine. Which makes Starfield much more complex...

It makes, based on the video, Squadron 42 look very dated and tired. It demonstrates the problem with such a long development time. I'm not into games I can't play with my spouse (I don't have to play with her, but I have to be able to play with her, so this is likely a pass for me.

Absolutely, that is the way it should be done. That hasn't been how CIG has been operating. They don't count us as investors. As long as people keep giving them money, they have no reason to change. On the flip side, if the money starts to slack off, they aren't in a position to do the work or...

Last word from Erin Roberts, (last fall) is Squadron 42 is more than 2 years away. Note that Squadron 42 has been two years away for almost the entire project. I don't see that changing any time in the foreseeable future. There is no incentive for CIG to finish anything as long as the money...

I'm past the point where I truly believe Star Citizen will never get released. It's already showing its age. It will be abandoned before it gets close to finished. Something needs to change. I doubt a publisher can get control, which rules that out.

The stock F-7C is every bit as good as the Wildfire version. It's the same craft with a different loadout and paint scheme. Is there a reason for the significant price increase? Not that I can see.

I seem to recall in Casino Royale (With David Niven, plus quite a few others as James Bond) a bomb that would kill all males over 5'6" and make all women beautiful.

Combat speed is to be higher, top speed is to be lower. I would think that would significantly impact the race maps, at a minimum.
