I think at this point the council seems like a fact-finding group setup to figure out how to organize a specific branch, in this case Exploration. This may or may not give us an idea of how we can organize further as an organization. No roles or duties or chain of command have been implemented...

Sure Sure. If you're gonna do the raffle might as well try for something a little better. : ) You can always fall back on the lower grade stuff if you don't reach your goal. Just make sure you have enough for an SSD.

I can actually donate a Merlin or this stein (I think I want to add the Tears of Our Enemies bit). I won a Merlin through a raffle and I can't think of anything better than to pay it forward. Maybe if you get enough, you can get these as well...

Looks good to me. The only thing I would point out is that the Sata connectors come staight up from the board so if you ever upgrade to a dual card setup, you might need to make sure everything is tucked in properly or maybe get cables with a 90 degree connector.

You know what, that is a fantastic idea. You could also offer to enter people into a raffle if they contribute and make it more visible. @Harkuno was really successful with his raffle. I say do it. I'll be happy to contribute a few bones.

It won't really matter if its old. If its good, it's good. Just make sure its good. : ) Caps go bad over time for sure. If you have a unit with good caps, it'll work until it wont.
