You cannot split up a package for gifting. Once the game launches, you *can* sell/gift the ship included in it, but you will not be able to gift just the game access and keep the ship.

Standalone ships are literally just ships. They do not grant you game access.

IIRC, the NPC slots you get from your extra packages are "free" in the sense that they're basically your alts. However, while you don't have to pay them wages, you still have to physically pay for the package to get the character slot. The regular NPCs you can hire all require wages to be paid...

The i7 line really is pretty much unstoppable for most "non-hardcore" applications; I've never really gone over about 80%, even when running folding@home. Star Citizen puts me at about 40% utilization.
