You will use fuel only for conventional travel. Once you get to a jump point the "rift" opens up and you go threw. so no fuel is needed to use jump points.

If you want to be hidden and spy on people you must master keeping your EM, radar, and Thermal signatures low as possible and keep a distance where your sensors can see them but theirs cannot see you.
