Did You Know...? George Hull: Aegis Reclaimer Concept Designer

As much as I wanted the reclaimed I couldn't justify buying it when I had no interest in salvage. Now the Orion is a treasured jpeg.

    I give up.

You are right that it's easy to lose sight in the criticism that while the game is lacking after all these years this doesn't discount the fact that a lot of us have also spent many an hour playing what they have so far delivered. Heck, I have purposefully ganked a random player just so that I...

Depends on if your hunting players or npc's. As of 3.17 nps are for the most part in rooms that do not have very long sight lines. Players on the other hand can easily be snipped from far away as they walk from ship to building to pick up or deliver packages.

Yes 4th Gen and yup I'd figured it would be worth getting now but I guess it's not there yet for me. It's what happens when you get old. Like my kids don't understand commercials or not having thousands of shows available even in the car. The idea of scheduling activities around TV show...

Star Citizen Fatigue, featuring Richard Bong :D

Nicely said. It was my hope going in that Chris while taking a long time and iterating over the same item multiple times would work well in this environment as it does allow and encourage reworking. Like mining where we got version zero and is been reworked and improved upon since. What has...

    I give up.

We are free QA and honestly I know many a developer who is envious of the large QA pool CIG has amassed and conveniently pays them for the opportunity. Thinking more on this and something @Richard Bong said in regards to a treadmill in the other thread got me thinking. While I do not see CIG...

To sign into my work email/calendar on my phone I still sometimes have to plug in a USB key and touch it as it's part of the two-factor authentication. To think this all started because I like having access to my work calendar on my phone and don't want to have two phones. So the first...

Ya I hade the note9 loved it but since samsung discontinued support and thus no new security patches I had to upgrade for work. It is one of the advantages of android in that I can have one phone and have two separate profiles instead of having to deal with two phones. As for the phone I...

    600i rework

Finally got around to watching live from Friday and they talked about some of the 600i changes. It seems the explorer can now hold a nova. View: https://youtu.be/7oAePxoHGk4?t=1435 I might have to trade in my 600 touring for an explorer. Also, they hinted at an Origin hover tank.

What a day. Am finding Samsung's phone support and repair procedures to be frustrating. Luckily it seems after attempting to visit two repair locations and being told they can't fix the phone Samsung sales is going to exchange it for a new one.

On the plus side in game development news. . .

This is one of those games I am scared to get my hopes too high for. I really want it to be good and scared given it's not the same development studio too much will be lost as to why the original was endearing.

    I give up.

Correct if all the players were going to play on the same game server/game world then there is no server currently in existence that would be capable of handling the workload let alone clients that could have good enough predictive algorithms to smooth the latency issues for fps combat. CIG's...

    I give up.

The issue really comes down to the fact they are using an old engine for something it was never designed for. We have to remember that the original engine is a single-player fps engine while it did great graphics for its time that's parent company is struggling. If you look at other games in...

    I give up.

A bit optimistic but not a bad time line. The thing that is questionable is how much of the art assets are complete and how much of the game features are flushed out. The engine seems very capable and the general story flow seems to be finalized. But it really comes down to the artwork...

While this is typically applied to the server game world state its also communicated to the player like all world state changes as a object id and scaler information. (X,y,z, rotation and scale) and then the clients game graphic engine would apply it as part of the render pipeline. It's similar...

    Bed login question

This is what happens. But from the technical implementation you should log in from the hospital as the ship you logged out from is unique and no longer exists. Most of the time I find myself just logging back in at the hotel room from the last landing site I visited. The last thing to know is...

How to stop your ship despawning

It was my understanding that the despawn timer was tied to the pilot seat and not the storage unstoring of a ship. So as long as someone is in the pilot seat the timer is reset and only starts to count down when vacant. I do know that ships landed inside ships seem to be counted as long as...
