Hey Guys!

Yesterday I did some aiming practice with my Aurora LN and it - kinda worked quite ok. I got the hangof it a bit.

Now the Aurora has fixed mounted weapons if I remember well.

Then I tried the Avenger Titan with its main center mounted gimballed gun.

And there it went all quite funny. I am flying Hotas and I have pitch (left/right) manoevering mapped on my stick (not the x/y axis - I mapped it on the "twisting" of the stick (dont remember the correct therm but you got the idea I hope).

Now - when I aim with the Titan and then use twist during dogfight the aiming reticule of the gimballed main gun follows that twist and thus jerks around like mad and I cant hit at all.

Is that normal? I mean back in Elite Dangerous gimballed weapons kinda "snapped on" a locked target as long as I was more or less within the weapons firing arc.

But here I dont get that gimballed thingie - its seems even harder to aim than fixed guns.

I am sure I am doing it wrong no?

Any idea where I cocked it up?

Thanks so much for your help!

Cheers!

You should use Gimball lock. That fixes the nose gun

So - if I lock the gimbal to center - then I loose the advantage of gimbal but at least I can aim...

Since gimbals are1 class lower I actually loose some firepower. Lets hope I can replace the main gun of the Titan by a fixed weapon then..

Thanks for the quick replies!!

I don't know if it will work with that thing.
Yes, it works with the Warlock, then it also will work on the Titan.

Lets hope I can replace the main gun of the Titan by a fixed weapon
You can't replace the Tigerstreik, but the Tigerstreik is a good weapon, it only has spin-up time, different PIPs then any other good weapon you can mount and needs ammo.
You can use the SW16BR2 “SAWBUCK” as wing weapon, it has the same PIP as the Tigerstreik, only it isn't a very good weapon, depends on your aiming skills

Try hitting "RAlt+J" once you're clear of the armistice zone. This locks the gimbals on every other ship, but that Tiger Streak is a strange breed of cat, I don't know if it will work with that thing.
Hey Carlos
It works there too! Thanks - I now can aim (a bit better ) ^^
