And thus..... who gives a shit
Lol we don't care on our end but critics are what are going to prevent new players and funders from coming into the fray to support. A good example is my best friend who is constantly reading reviews to SC and asks me why did you spend over 1k on this game again?

In my opinion, critics do what critics do & most people know that in general they are whiny, pathetic, nitpicky people without any actual value in life because all they do it criticize & put everything down unless they are paid to say something nice. So intelligent people know that they should take whatever a critic says with a grain of salt & investigate on their own to determine if they were being told the truth or not. This being said, all of these wide spread criticisms might actually benefit Star Citizen as people learn about it existing & having innovative tech being introduced through it. Then should they see what we see, odds are they will join up & become enthusiastic backers as well. Which will further benefit the game we all love.

For the record, I do not classify those such as our wonderful leader Montoya or other Star Citizen streamers like Myre, BoredGamer, Noobifer, etc as critics as they call things as they see them & point out both the highlights as well as pit falls of this game we love. That makes them realists IMO & I greatly appreciate their input in helping me find out information about the various aspects of SC.

To be honest for me it doesn't really seems like criticism but more like they were scared or something like this?
"Once aware that we were watching them, though, they began to move their jaws around, blinking their eyes, opening their mouths and showing us the full range of motion."
They were acting more human-like, what's wrong with it?
"It was nightmarish, to be frank. To watch virtual lips flap in real time as people across the room from us had stilted conversations was a unique, and uniquely strange, experience."
Why nightmarish? You may or may not like it but it's just something players aren't used to, if used for longer time they will just take it as normal.
Well I'd say I didn't really like this feature when they showed it but for totally different reasons. I didn't think it was bad, scary or "nightmarish" I'd just fell kinda awkward that my character is copying my every move like yawning, stretching etc. I'd feel like I was being watched whole time. But that's not the reason they posted, they just said it's disturbing because of how it looks.

First, the critics don't prevent or cause anything. That type of person just uses them as an excuse...a crutch. 'Someone else is to blame'.
Otherwise, ask yourself why they 'believe' the critics and don't believe you? (their BEST friend).
@Talonsbane stated it very well. Critics will say whatever their readers want to hear. Critics are in the business of making money. Period.

Second, we have funded CIG for over $158M USD without people like this and will continue to do so.
We just Pledged over $2M since Friday.
People like this are the 'free-loaders'. They will make any excuse and wait for others to pay the bill and do all the hard work.
Then, they will come running with their hands out screaming; "Give me, give me at the same low price. I am entitled.".
We don't need or want them. Do you honestly want people like this in the 'Verse? Constantly bitching about everything?
Leave them with NMS and LOD. They are happy there.

@Sirus7264 Believe what you will but in the end they will come running to 'jump on the bandwagon'. After all, they must be part of the in-crowd.
When Star Citizen is released, CIG will make 100s of millions of dollars from sales and leasing their proprietary coding.
I honestly believe that Star Citizen will become the most successful PC game of my lifetime. It will change the future of gaming.
You, I and all of the backers will have experience and knowledge. And, lots and lots of pretty ships. Ha. HA.

Sit back and watch. Enjoy the ride.

Have another beer and forget about these people. (except of course in your RL - he is your BEST friend).
Continue to have FUN with your TESTies. (That sounds kind of kinky)
You'll be much better off.

Exactly.........
Critics (even some streamers) are paid to say or print whatever will make them money, money, money.
Then there are those honest enough to report accurately & honestly. Like those you mentioned and many, many more. They are not critics, they are Reporters.
btw - Nikki (Batgirl; D'Angelo is another honest Reporter. I know, I have watched EVERY video that she has made since the beginning.

Yeah I know and I will continue the joyride to the finish and continue supporting. I'm defiantly not agreeing with the Critics just thought I would be the first to post about them trying to incriminate our game from Gamescon instead of trying to have any support for it.(as always critics are critics and critics are assholes we all know that) As for my best friend I'll get him in here one of these days i'm going to wait till at least 3.0 is out then i'll work on getting him a new pledge(hopefully an older one with LTI).

@Shinlen Several 'critics' are voicing concern about the 'NEW' FOIP.
"Why are they introducing something new and not working on the original promised things?"

Perhaps, we all could use a short lesson in the TRUTH.
Chris Roberts has always envisioned FOIP as part of SC and told us about it repeatedly.
Don't believe me? Watch & Listen for yourself.

4 YEARS AGO......
As Dana Scully said; "I want to Believe."
btw - We all don't have to use this feature. Just as we don't have to use VR, TrackIR or HOTASs.

The article has a tone of fear or bemusement rather than criticism. Imagine a dude in some lost Amazonian tribe seeing a mirror and his own reflection for the first time. Could be that kind of thing.

FOIP will be great for the rollplayers and scripted Youtube video mob but otherwise I suspect it will be relatively little used unless it takes off because it helps you look around the cockpit... I still say you'll need a lot of light for the average webcam to be able to make it work properly though.

And as @Zull Reicher points out, VR will negate it, because if you are wearing a VR headset that covers half your face, a webcam is going to pick up shit-all face movements, so it seems its a feature that is disabled by another feature that the kind of people who would use the feature will be wanting to use unless they can account for that... Can they account for that?

It'll be a battle between VR and FOIP as to which comes out on top, if either, but it's nice to actually have the options.
