Anyone else find these cards interesting in 3.9?

Good luck @LoicFarris! DR is not my favorite activity loop of all time.

Maybe we finally get more info on insurance, and some in-game Org structure?
I feel like its really easy to read too much into these - but this card is kind of disturbing and has a "bit" to do with why I joined TEST. There are orgs that plan on being little bastians of communism which to me makes it difficult to maintain motivation. That's beside the point you're asking about though.

I really like the idea that this would require in-game org structure, because it can be very lonely in the 'verse.
(and I don't mind helping TEST in the least, I just didn't like how some orgs used their "innovative economic model" to try to recruit me)

Same. I've done the all for one one for all many times across many games and it works well enough in small groups and I imagine it would work well in SC for combat-centric orgs where having everyone geared out is far more important than worrying about who is owed what. But for me, my playtime is too sporadic and while I have no issue helping out a fellow testie I want to be able to do it on my terms.

As for the cards I have a feeling is the first implementation of the economy of SC and a manifestation of the panel Tony gave on how the whole AI economy is going to function.

ORGs can have membership fees? I dunno how I feel about that
feel good about it

'fees ' (taxes) will fund our ship replacement program, to incentivise otherwise risk-averse pilots to join our fleets of conquest

the opportunities to profit from control of valuable resources will more than make up for what we pay in taxes

not to mention bragging rights

Fees would only be relevant if there are costs, and right now there aren’t any.

Supply chain is a complex topic. How deep it goes remains to be seen and personally I won’t speculate without a framework - I don’t want to predispose myself to a point of view.

There's a dirty joke somewhere in all this, but it's 4 am, and I've been at the office since 9pm. Oh yeah... something bad broke at work and we've been in a DR event since Friday. Fun times...
DR event?
Dominican Republic? You're there too? Fuck I need some water. The margaritas are kicking my ass. Thank god we're flying home tomorrow .

I can understand why. Breaky, beach, beer, nap, lunch, beer, beach, beer, dinner, beer, nap, breaky beer, beach...
Best loop ever.

Now is when you both tell me DR isn't Dominican Republic and it's something horrible. Or you can choose to let me continue to live in my little world of sunshine, margaritas, and family. Not in that order of course.

DR event is Geek for "Disaster Recovery event". Generally, I mean hopefully, not actually a disaster in the strict sense, but they also qualify. One other thing about DR events is that they tend to occur during the most inopportune moments. Note that there might not be anything actually wrong with a computer systems, but typically some non-IT expert* will determine that IT is at fault.

* Expert - Noun, formed by joining "x" (an unknown quantity) and spurt (a drip under pressure).

Hahaha, oh my land, too funny. We have many "experts" in the military. I can relate.
As to the events themselves, sounds like life happens, someone (expert) spins, and now the event is a DR. This I can also relate to. Again, military. ;) We tend to attract the best and brightest.

There are always costs. Anyone spends any time serving the org, that is a cost. Generally, when you need a service of some sort, you get what you pay for, which is why volunteer work generally sucks.

I am looking forward to TEST actually having some nominal fee so that Toys can be paid for all his time. You may think that is nothing, but it ain't. And if an org can charge fees, it can focus to provide benefits to its members that others can't get without. Who wouldn't want a dedicated micro-jump calculator that no one outside TEST can get? Etc.

How are org leaders supposed to collect fees without an org bank? I prefer to take the glass half full approach and think that CIG is planning on giving org tools to us soon so that we can have things like a TEST hangar/base, TEST mobiglass tab, TEST bank, TEST dkp spreadsheet, etc.

I totally agree

in the same way that CIG is bringing Discord-like capabilities in-game with Spectrum I expect them to implement the tools to facilitate intra- and inter-org communication and management

Eve Online teaches us that players will build the tools to organise and connect that the devs don't build

what's hard to predict is what playstyles will emerge in SC's sandbox, and which capabilities orgs will want
