The side turrets are manned, the top and bottom turrets are run from stations on the bridge, hence the 'unmanned' part.
Or at least, that's what I got out of that video.

@VFV Yeah, there's going to be both npc crew and the ability to run your turrets with 'ai chips' or something like that. Still a long way off though.

EDIT: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/engineering/16316-Q-A-Anvil-Hawk
From the Q&A - It appears that was the original intent but there was a last minute change to all 6 being manned. This was why the images and stats pages were incorrect. I saw where it was possible to convert 4 of 6 to AI Blades so hopefully they can be converted to PDS and automatically shoot torpedoes, if not torpedo ships like the Retaliator and Eclipse will rip through them if the crew/AI aren't on point. Having said that I have an Eclipse so finding a few other Eclipse owners to go shark fishing sounds pretty fun.

I don't know, given the sheer amount of Hammerheads that will be in the verse I would think the Polaris and Eclipses will be in a target rich enviroment.
I think hammer heads and Polaris would be a great combo together. Would be fun to see

Nah, max people is only limited by available space, so you can cram as many in as fit. However, past a certain point there will be air/weight issues, and also, lag.
The other issue is max crew also sort of factors in the number of beds which act as spawn/save points so if you overload your ship and have NPC's then they will fly the ship back to the nearest port if you disconnect / logout instead of simply despawning the ship in that point in space.

Indeed
torpedo ships like the Retaliator and Eclipse will rip through them if the crew/AI aren't on point.
Its going to be interesting to see how the counter measures and ability to destroy torpedoes works. Either way this ship says NO to fighters and light bombers being effective in any fleet engagement.

I think hammer heads and Polaris would be a great combo together.
With the introduction of the Hammerhead this is what you will mostly see as the introduction of the Hammerhead creates a combat ship floor for fleet engagements. While the Retaliator is stated as being effective against the hammerhead and possibly against larger capital ships as the game progresses captain capital resources becomes less of a deciding factor and player numbers becomes a bigger issue. What this means is if you had a choice between being a captain in a Retaliator or a Polaris and UEC was not a factor which would you pick? Prior to the introduction of the Hammerhead ships like the Gladiator, Harbinger, Eclipse and Retaliator were very effective against capital ships and their only counter was fighters. So even with a unlimited UEC one would stack their fleet with fighters and bombers and only use a few capital ships to stage from. Now its far more effective to have a couple Hammerheads and have the rest of the players in Polaris. Ships like the Idris which drops its shield when firing the STS as well as the downside of having to line up the shot make it not as effective as the Polaris in attack wings. And ships like the Javelin while significantly more powerful do not have the same flexibility when used as a strike craft.
