PS: Them guns under the cockpit seems like a new attachment. Brilliant idea. IF the ship doesn't fly like a brick. From the raw numbers I suspect though it does actually fly a little brick-ish.
What's the verdict from the new happy owners?
Honestly, it's a hard call to make. It flies similar to a Connie or Corsair, so the new pilot guns aren't terribly useful. The 400i is also stuck with 2 size 4's but is measurably more agile. Pilot view is great, and will hopefully find it's way to older RSI ships.
As other have pointed out, there does seem to be a lot of wasted space in what is a much bigger hull than the original concept promoted. Maybe when drone gameplay is a thing, that rear area in front of the ramp will have a construct where the rescued patients will be brought in. IIRC in the concept that was supposed to be a waiting area.
The medical pods are cool enough; being able to select any combination seems like something that should be very useful in the future. Without the associated gameplay though, at this time it feels pointless.
Amenities are good. Components are easy to access, the Flight Deck is nicely equipped and has it's own elevator. There is plenty of storage for gear, weapons and consumables, and a somewhat useful set of two 16 SCU cargo grids. Given that we have Magic Medgel now, the originally stated purpose for the cargo areas (medical supplies) seems moot, and boxes are limited to 1-2 SCU by the entryway.
The largest vehicle that you are likely to get into the ship is a hoverbike, and a couple of Pulses would certainly be easy to store on the cargo grids. While carrying an Ursa is a good idea, the drone recovery units were actually intended to fulfill the role of bringing patients into the ship, and would work in space as well as on the ground.
Tentative Conclusion: The gameplay this ship is intended to excel at is not currently in SC, and for anything else there are better choices available. Sadly, the only reason I can see to hang onto it for now is because it's new and shiny.
