Cool RSI thread on the realism of the flight model. Makes me think I need to get a joystick.

Yeah the forums are full of conclusion jumping shitheads that immediately assume that since the flight model is more complex than the standard fair, it instantly is bad.

After all, if there is anyone who can get a flight model right for a space game, it's gonna be Roberts.

As my latest report, my third time in the game was much different. Finally getting a handle on things. I think the key component is that I've decreased my flying speed to a number that I can handle, per the advice of forums. Will gradually increase as I get the hang of things even more. I also read something about the way the correctional thrusters work, that they take a second to engage, which understanding has helped tremendously with my over-correction problem.

Been starting to use the spacebrake. Haven't played as much with IFCS. Got as far as Wave 6 before being thoroughly outclassed by Vanduul. I'm starting to rethink my role in game, b/c there are gonna be other dogfighters who far outstrip my abilities.

Played three rounds so far, made it to wave 1, 6, and 12 respectively. The firstround had an interesting glitch, which is why I only made it to wave one, but hey, what can you do with no combat avionics.
