A previous CIG employee who'd left to take up a dream job having to counter a rumour that they'd been sacked.

Just did a quick Twitter/X and instagram scan.
In September 22 she showed up as a CIG representative for the Women in Games 22 convention.
Come Halloween she was already a member of Rocksteady.
Nothing inbetween that indicates a big breake like getting fired.
And in that industry it's unlikely to get a new job that fast after getting the boot.
So that rumor sounds like trash talk to me.
All too common, sadly...

Just stumbled over it on Twix or whatever it's called this week, popped up on my timeline so no direct experience myself. It could be twaddle but seems legit. As in the title just sucks to see them having to defend themselves in the first place.

Probably not massive in drama terms but obviously big enough negative effect for them to put out a message about it - so sharing to amplify - malicious rumours about real people, no matter how small it's eventual reach, cast a shadow on real people.

As I had nothing to do with anything & I'm only learning something long after whatever happened, I choose to believe the person while stating that I believe that good devs deserve to enjoy good jobs that make them happy. This might be a simplistic view, but at least it's honest.
