Can you buy back a CCU for a ship not on sale?

Hi Folks,

i picked up an Aquila to Orion CCU before the Aquila price rise. The gap was $50, i have now realised that due to the price rise that happened for the Aquila it means that the CCU should now only cost $15.

Can i melt my CCU and buy it back even though the Orion is no longer available?

Yes. At the original price, too! If you want to use credit, though, you’ll have to use a “buy-back token” which they (RSI) allot only 1 every quarter (compounding as well); otherwise you have to use IRL monies.

Well the correct info is...

CCU's can be bought back (new money or buyback token with credits) but if the ship in the CCU change price in the store the CCU buyback will change accordingly to that new price.

Only thing in buyback that does not change price after melting and keep original buy price is a game pack, stand alone ships, guns/weapons gear and yes concept ships too (warbond or regular credit bought or new money doesn't matter) what you bought it for will stay same in buyback except the CCU's they change with store price.

Yep I lost a shedload because In thought it was a clever idea to sell my big package and ships so I could buy all the small ships to play during 2.4. That worked great, I had all the fighters and had loads of fun trying out all the weapon combos.

Of course when I went to buy the packages and ships back they'd all gone up in price and the exchange rate was worse by 20% too. Biggest waste of £200+ in my life!

Not melting anything now!!!

Wait, the ship packages increased in price in your buyback? I've never seen that. What packages? I need to go check on mine now, haha.

That's fucking brutal! I remember when I first joined, I would make all my pushes in GBP, (Dec 2015) as that was an amazing exchange rate to CAD. But they rebalanced the exchange rates at New Year's that year, and that no longer was a viable option. They've done that a couple times now since I joined. Sorry you got the short end of the stick on that deal.

Yeh mee too! That could have been a couple of extra auroras. We're used to it over here as we get ripped off pretty brutally all our lives in the UK. Come to think of it I don't know why I live here at all. Anyone got a spare room over there? Canada would be fine!

Haha, man, I'm I France right now. Was in the UK last fall: holy shit are the roads over here narrow, small, windy, with insane drivers. You come to Canada, you'll be blown away by how much space there is. Space for days sometimes.
