Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) Training
Yellow Jackets / TSMC training with three phases: Disable, Approach/Insertion and CQB.
Disabling large ships with distortion weapons and component targeting (CFT part, specialised combat flight tactics),
Practicing boarding of the disabled ships (insertion tactics, close-quarter combat, FPS part).
Location:
Variant A: anywhere in space (zero-gravity insertion)
Variant B: anywhere in atmosphere (target ship needs to fly at low altitude, to be able to perform an emergency landing once its engines are disabled)
Opfor:
-- 2-3 fighters with high-dps distortion weapons
-- 1 dropship (optional, when not using Vanguards as the fighters)
-- 5 marines (fighter crews transform into assault team once phase 1 is completed)
Blufor:
-- Heavy cargo ship like 890 or Starfarer
-- 4 airmen armed with small arms + 1 pilot
Objectives:
-- Primary objective: disable target spacecraft without damaging the hull - phase 1
-- Secondary objective: board the target ship and clear it - phase 2
Notes:
-- Target ship might need to lower her shields to 5-25%; value depends on the number of opfor fighters and their total dps; tested with 890 (5%) and Starfarer Gemini (25%)
-- In case it is impossible to disable target ship, both teams proceed to the second phase
