The Sq42 demo totally rocked. Did anyone catch the awesome power of those Vanduul Stingers? Those are gnarly ships. They call them heavy fighters but they’re closer to bombers.
That didn't age well. :) 5 it is.I doubt they want to launch with less than 20. Castra is a good choice since it connects to Nyx, Pyro, Hadrain and Oso.
I wasn't too far off with my speculation. lols My list just added 3 extra & missed 1That didn't age well. :) 5 it is.
YesDay 2 they announced Terra as one of the additional systems we'd be getting for SC 1.0 correct?
Agreed. I loved the Squadron 42 demo. But, I do hope that they speed up the ships considerably…maybe 30% at least. The Vanduul were like way too underwhelming, like shooting fish in a barrel full of jello. I know that players are being onboarded but he selected the most challenging setting. I'm guessing the work in progress had the difficulty in all four buttons set to "Functional" regardless of the one chosenAgreed. I loved the Squadron 42 demo. I kind of thought that they were targeting subsystems suicidally.Agreed. I loved the Squadron 42 demo. But, I do hope that they speed up the ships considerably…maybe 30% at least. It looked like it was about 50% cut scene, which feels like a bit much. The Sq42 demo totally rocked. Did anyone catch the awesome power of those Vanduul Stingers? Those are gnarly ships. They call them heavy fighters but they’re closer to bombers.
I mean I loved it. I want more already.I agree that a lot of cut scenes may be off putting to many, but it really does a great job of selling the world they‘ve built. If they have substantially shorter cut scenes throughout the rest of the game that would probably be best. But then again, with so many top tier actors, they probably wanna get their monies worth by letting them shine.
I like how they made sure to mention the recommendation was from before the incident so it's not JUST because you saved the Captain. You deserved it.I don’t really care about the percent cut scenes. What struck me was how magnificently CIG pulled off making the player feel a small cog in a large machine —just how one ought to feel at the start, before they have any sort of noteriety. You were there. You survived. Now let’s learn to pilot a fighter. Oh yeah, erm cool. You saved the Captain too. Good that.
Man, I was almost in tears by the end of it due to those feelings you're describing here. I cannot wait to immerse myself in this. That video alone captures all the feels I've been waiting for since . . .well, I dunno when. *sniffle*I don’t really care about the percent cut scenes. I need to watch this part of Citizencon again. But is the point that ships -- not just ship components -- can be crafted at higher tiers? If so, I have an issue with that too. If its just ship components, i'm ok with that. From one perspective, its nice to have an upgrade path to ships that I already own. Even though I may grumble about the insurance requirement for higher tier components after having LTI.I actually don't like the idea of us being able to craft better ships - better components and weapons sure but the idea of being owned by a tier 5 ship when I have the same ship annoys me. I feel like the corporations would have a thing or two to say about us having their designs outside of their shipyards.
I am about 98% sure it was explicitly ships as well. That 2% is maybe it could be referring to building them with better components and weapons from the get-go? But my unfounded speculation is that they wanted to introduce a hook / grind for those of us who have purchased everything we would want ship wise.I need to watch this part of Citizencon again. Sure, something with some flavor text like improved bracing or stealth coatings or something I could live with, but the idea that crusader has their famed shipyards and we're building better stuff in a 3D printed hanger in the forsaken pyro system seems next level beyond belief. While this is just my speculation, it wouldn't surprise me if they won't have us provide a base ship to upgrade, then basically replace its materials with something that better suits our needs. Such as enhancing the strength of the hull to sustain more damage before failing, replace them with lighter stronger materials for the sake of racing OR perhaps there will be materials that can be used to improve stealth capabilities in some manner or another.
What I had in mind was more in line with was similar to the automotive parts aftermarket. Take a the Dodge Viper for example, there are small companies & even some individuals that make parts that are lighter & stronger than the OEM parts, but cost more. For example, there's a model known as the Hennessy Viper, which has all sorts of improved stats over the original, but it was upgraded with fabricated parts from the Hennessey company. It became so popular, that Dodge made it an official version after a while. I hope that this helps make sense of what I had in mind.Sure, something with some flavor text like improved bracing or stealth coatings or something I could live with, but the idea that crusader has their famed shipyards and we're building better stuff in a 3D printed hanger in the forsaken pyro system seems next level beyond belief.
Also the emphasis that this would be entirely player driven really calls into question the 10% of the economy rule. Like crusader isn't going to sell a tier 5 ship? They're incapable of building the best version of their own design?
I tend to trust the process but I want more details on this soon. Not as soon as the people on Reddit today wanted more information on the Galaxy, but soonish.
